  1. Not sure they are right running this storm north of Chicago, but more so in just the idea of something west of the Apps. I do think, one of these models will have a good idea of Great lakes, Apps, or coastal by Sunday morning. After that will be fine tuning.....36 to 48 hrs of model flux until then
  2. It's going to cut to Buffalo, 975ish....that wave out in front, hanging around the OBX is playing games too. I bet if it isn't there on the EURO, the storm cuts right up the Apps.
  3. My memory of storms is very foggy, but living in the Mid Atlantic. There was a storm 2011, 2013ish. That the GFS sort of reminded me of down there. There was an initial storm that brought a few I ches of snow. Then a change over to rain and drizzle. Then by the evening there was a second, very strong system that moved it. I remember, thunder and lighting with sleet that eventually changed over to snow. I think there was an additional 6-12 inches by the next morning.
  4. A 957 in upstate NY...I would assume at least some damage down here. It just seems like it makes sense to let our current storm develop and move out. Models are going to struggle, as they did with our current storm.. but there is a real worry that most have frozen dirt come Christmas morning...
  5. That has Waterbury getting 5 inches, is that what it thought was going to happen or is that for later today/tonight? Even has some accumulations down towards the coast....
  6. 38⁰ atm. Besides a few mangled flakes before midnight, we never had a chance to see anything but rain from this one. GFS definitely failed, at least down here. Good luck up north!
  7. Love being in the less than 30" hole there in CT....I am sure it will somehow verify. That GFS run gives me 2015 vibes
  8. I have 4 kids that have been either screaming at each other or me today, it is just one of those days. Just need that GFS that has been steadfast for 48 hours to actually be right this time. Lol...please?!?!
  9. That sounds about right....Rains here, then bombs out and snows EOR, now I am starting to sound like Ray. Biggest snow I have seen here since 2015 was 17 inches
  10. Nam looks SE, pretty far possibly? Maybe not that far, but colder definitely....
  11. It seems the further south/stronger than ocean storm moving through is, the better that High to the Northeast can build in before hand....
  12. Not expecting much here at this point, definitely marginal situation along with warmer coastal waters is a no go along the coast and even here eventually. Need a deepening low with a NNE/NE wind direction. Most of our snow will be gone by then, so not much to wash away. Hope it sets up for a fun next week.
  13. Well, here is hoping the GFS is correct....Almost all snow here, maybe 5-10"? I would assume during light precip we would flip to some drizzle or light rain....hoping for a bit more in dynamics and we could easily see more. Hopefully not a 33-35 degree rain event.
  14. Someone needs to do some underground thermal imaging. Is there a hidden volcano under there?
  15. No wind here, 11.1⁰ for the low...coldest of the season so far. Looks and feels like winter. We still have flocked trees, despite the 35 and some sun yesterday.
  16. Cold night incoming, already down to 27⁰...
  17. Looks like the GFS ticked SE again....keep it coming, just not too much
  18. This year is the year that we break that jinx....hopefully
  19. sitting at under 200 ft, in a small valley we may have issues accumulating in that situation. West and elevated maybe the key to this one...Unless of course we have a good shift east over the next couple of days.
  20. Not sure WOR folks have a had a great system since I moved up here...EOR crew has cleaned house since 2015 it seems. I love to share snow, but we are due?!....
  21. 6z GFS gives Southbury a 20" early Christmas gift here for Friday, I am sure that is going to happen. One thing I have noticed is the cold seems to be locking in a bit more west of the river, despite the low position. May have something to do with the airmass out ahead? Still 4 days to go, guess it could always end up riding the Hudson with that time frame left...
  22. @The 4 Seasons 2.7" in Southbury, CT. There are still a few flurries coming down atm. 27.9⁰
  23. Almost 2 inches, sledding has begun....let's see if we can crack 3 inches?!?!
  24. That initial burst we had earlier coated the ground nicely, but the temps were marginal and most has melted except on the northern facing yards. Snow is finally picking up here again, lower sun angle plus temp at 32.0⁰ should aid in accumulations pretty quickly. Hoping to get 1-2 inches at this point.
