  1. Winter snowfall predictions aren’t worth the 3 minutes it took to type them up.
  2. We need a “dial-a-Chuck”. Kinda like Wheel of Fortune. Give ‘er a spin. Let’s see how good winter is gonna be today.
  3. It’s almost impossible to win a fight with the Pacific. You might survive it but you won’t win it.
  4. For a place that doesn’t have fall anymore we sure have had a pretty nice couple of weeks. I guess it would have been snowing by now years ago
  5. Helps add hope to your big thing … cold air in Canada … which I agree with BTW
  6. That basically says that there was less snow from 2011 to 2020 than there was from 1981 to 1990. That’s it. When you are doing averages and only using 30 years and doing it in blocks of 10 years, you’re gonna see swings like this. It’s a third of your data. That’s big.
  7. BWI 10/31 IAD 10/24 DCA 11/18 RIC 10/31 TIE 18.58645” ( Hurricane Alpha Beta Sigma Omega - Cat 5 up the bay)
  8. I’ll join him in saying it. Maybe the Canadian maritimes.
  9. Notice the wild disparity with snow in the two years with the low Jan temp. So much of snow is luck.
  10. Ok we don’t need any more rain. We are at the point of sun angle where the soil a couple inches down won’t dry again until the weather warms again in spring. Wet season is coming soon. So … no more rain for a while please.
  11. I didn’t mean to imply that you didn’t know. Sorry. I just didn’t know if I was being clear about what I was trying to say. I tend to find the most trivial of things the coolest.
  12. That really is in the “middle of the ocean”
  13. I used the NOAA solar calculator to find it as best I could. If I am using the calculator correctly, the direct rays of the sun will cross the equator at lat O (obviously lol) and -136.93359 long. This is in the pacific about halfway between Hawaii and San Francisco, on the equator
  14. Yes. Thanks. I know they know the exact spot because I’ve heard them say it on the weather channel before. I just can’t find it. Your explanation is solid.
  15. Yeah but the earth is “sideways” to the sun on this day. At some point today the suns direct rays will move from the northern hemisphere into the Southern Hemisphere. I think I read that it occurs at 3:20. So I’m wondering where on the equator the sun will be at 90° at 3:20. They can give the exact path of a solar eclipse so I’m sure this info is out there somewhere. I just can’t find it lol.
  16. Does anyone know where I can find the exact location of the equinox? The exact location where the sun crossed the equator today? Or will later on I mean.
  17. @yoda Is there a chance of flooding rains?
  18. That was because of Hugo. That’s not a normal case. I remember that as well
