  1. My dad works for Metro-North and he took snow duty overtime up in Connecticut (I think they had around a foot where he was) and he came home with a bunch of videos of the near blizzard conditions for me. After I watched them, I remember being so dissapointed about living on long island, and then my dad says "it's only October, I'm sure we'll get a lot of snow this winter if this is how it's starting". We all know how that turned out lol
  2. I was only in 6th grade at the time but I remember the temperature getting down to freezing or just below on the morning of Oct 30th and Halloween in 2011 imby, we picked up a trace of snow here on the day of the storm too but the temps hovered in the mid 30s that day
  3. Had a high of 69 around a couple hour s ago when the sun peeked out briefly, but it's gone back down to 67
  4. Could go up to 5 or 6 majors if reanalysis says Paulette or Sally reached minimal Cat 3 strength

  9. Idk the 2015 blizzard is still my #2 all time (~24" of snow)tied with February 2013 and behind the king: January 2016, obviously it busted for most of you guys though. Im also only 20 so the sample size is limited lol
  10. My total here from the heavy rain this morning was 2.59" of rain. Interesting that the 7+" amount only occured a mile away in Copiague, i guess the heaviest of the rain was extremely localized?
  11. Wow crazy light show with this storm, not much rain (.20" but its still raining) and winds only gusted to about 25-30 mph, but the lightning has been nuts, like 1 stroke every 1-2 seconds
  12. Yet to see a drop of rain today, maybe tonight? 85/70 currently
  13. 90/71 heat index 96 right now, i dont think i get much of anything at least in the near term, for severe since it looks like storms will be mostly too far east
  14. Mostly no rain here today other than a quick shower earlier. Does anyone know why FRG isnt reporting any data today?
  15. Currently at 91 in Lindenhurst, thankfully dewpoint is only at 66 so it doesn't feel too bad outside
  16. Received about .38" of rain last night, all from between 9 and 10:30 PM
  17. Forgot to post my final rainfall total yesterday, finished with 0.39"
  18. 6.8" since June 1st so far in Lindenhurst, there's been enough rain to keep the drought from getting worse but no big events to totally get rid of it
