  1. Probably before many here were born, but today is 57-year anniversary of The Lindsay Storm. In Queens at the time and very difficult to measure. 17.7" was my best attempt. No pictures, but I remember tunneling into back yard where the snow was scoured out in the middle to some bare ground while surrounded by drifts reaching to the second floor.
  2. Hi Don, do you think that the lack of sounding data in the 6z and 18z runs might contribute to the divergent solutions?
  3. We care. And in the embrace of the woman you love. That works too. Enjoy, we'll leave the light on for you.
  4. Well said Mr. rclab, a philosophical response, one I echo. Went through my 12th holiday season without my wife- not competing with you rclab;just the way it is- and there will almost certainly be more snow, even if you have to go find it. But Mr.vegan_edible, finding true love a lot more difficult. Coulda shoulder woulda can place you in a world of regret. Side note-could you get her a plane ticket to you? Envision this-a snowy scene with a crackling fire and the woman you love-what could be better than this? Pray and hope that you make the right choice-for both of you. And now back to the weather..

  7. In Astoria, around 2pm,both westbound lanes were blocked and yellow-taped off because of large branch that fell just before GCP entrance on Ditmars Boulevard. This was "forcing" traffic to drive westbound in eastbound lanes. A bit scary. KLGA gust to 42 kts- 48 mph.
  8. Albert Hammond 1972 "It Never Rains In Southern California" Seems It Never Rains In Southern California Seems I've Often Heard That Kind Of Talk Before It Never Rains In California But Girl, Don't They Warn Ya ? It Pours, Man, It Pours
  9. Decent snow shower now including snow pellets which are sticking to outdoor furniture-if the winds-30 mph don't blow them away.
  10. As of 651am KNYC KJFK KEWR all reported 33.1° as their mins. Maybe KNYC briefly dropped lower after that time. KLGA 34°. KTEB was 32°. KFRG also 33.1°, but had missing obs from 553am and 653am.
  11. Especially twilight feeding time. Just missed one on Harned by the Saw Mill.
  12. But you have to head back in an hour earlier, so...
