  1. In Astoria, around 2pm,both westbound lanes were blocked and yellow-taped off because of large branch that fell just before GCP entrance on Ditmars Boulevard. This was "forcing" traffic to drive westbound in eastbound lanes. A bit scary. KLGA gust to 42 kts- 48 mph.

  3. Decent snow shower now including snow pellets which are sticking to outdoor furniture-if the winds-30 mph don't blow them away.
  4. As of 651am KNYC KJFK KEWR all reported 33.1° as their mins. Maybe KNYC briefly dropped lower after that time. KLGA 34°. KTEB was 32°. KFRG also 33.1°, but had missing obs from 553am and 653am.

  7. Sullivan County Tornado confirmed by someone on ground. Meanwhile back on LI, after a break in the overcast around 930am, quick- 2-minute- downpour just dropped 0.05", bringing total up to 0.74". Would expect to exceed 1 " here.

  9. Totally agree. Hostile environment. So if the 5pm Scatterometer analysis does not find Tropical-Storm force winds, will it attain or tie a record for the shortest-lived named storm?

  11. Not impossible to get a long-term drought, but not too likely given the convergence of storm tracks in our area.
