  1. Going with 1.4”. Nothing on the sidewalk or driveway which makes things easy.
  2. My wife just got home from work down in the Pentagon City area. She says it is a whole different world down there than here in Falls Church. T is very believable.
  3. 35 dbz returns are a dendrite snowglobe. Very cool.
  4. Side roads covered in Tyson’s. Main roads have some slush on the sides.
  5. All snow. Still 35.7. Good day to mPING if you participate.
  6. NAM changes over at 21z along 95 and has maybe 0.15” fall after that. The snow depth output on IWM is coating-like. This honestly makes the most sense.
  7. That is calling for all-time records in my home territory in southern MN. The fresh snowpack there will help, but this isn’t 94 or 96.
  8. We'd want the peak omegas a little higher. Here's the 3km from TT
  9. 18z NAM at 4pm. ~0.25" qpf falls after that in the DC metro area.
  10. Just looking back at the 18z GFS, the wind profile post-front quickly changes back to SWerly early in the day on Wednesday. The GFS doesn’t get any QPF to us with the good pulse late in the day on Wednesday, but that would be the perfect time for a squall.
  11. The NAM is tough to decipher. It is really hitting on a squally frontal passage at about 3z for the DC metro. What exactly is the precip type? I’m not sure I’d stick out my neck on either. Another thing to point out - the cold is relatively pedestrian with the frontal passage. It is the second pulse late in the day on Wednesday that really brings the chill.
  12. The cold may not be getting as much play as it could be. Taken literally, the 18z GFS has the coldest 850 temp on record at Minneapolis. The 12z Euro is top-10 coldest. Excellent chance it doesn't verify, but that is still a nasty cold airmass rotating through the northern tier of the US. When you have the cold, there are always chances for something. Maybe we can get lucky on the retreat.
  13. I’m surprised we haven’t had more days like this. Nice catch.
  14. Oh, a NFCCG in the Superdome was won by a team that didn’t deserve it due to massive ref errors. Hmmm. /Favre doesn’t forget
  15. Spiked to 47 at 4am. 0.98” rain. The frontal passage looks like a dud too, cold temps lagging.
  16. I’m down to maybe 40% coverage. It’ll be just piles by noon tomorrow.
