I lived in Charlotte during that one and had 9” in NoDa. 5 miles south of me the totals were well over a foot! That was an awesome storm!

Why is everyone sold on no snow for NC? and I don’t care about trends or what the models say. With so many pieces to this puzzle there’s no reason to throw in the towel. Maybe that’s my inner child speaking, but have a little hope. Come tomorrow night, if things are as sh”::! as they are right now model wise then I’ll concede with the rest of you.! :-)

Because I’m old I can say from experience that setups like this will verify with mostly snow in Winston/Gso… snow to ice to snow in CLT and about half and half in RDU with Durham of course cashing in pretty good compared to Raleigh. That’s just how these go and most of you know that. Screw the models and just enjoy a good ol’ fashioned NC winter storm!!!

Concord with 110,000 people is pretty competitive with Lilly now. Rock Hill has Winthrop University so Charlotte is very competitive with the cities you mention around Raleigh. And then there's LKN which is a monster on its own.... Good call though!!

Was not expecting the almost 2" rain imby today. Flood advisory for Northern Charlotte and NE Suburbs expire in an hour or so. When we finally have a week of 85+ with straight sunshine, just wow! Hate humidity tho

Raining and 37 in Concord NC.... I saw the "confirmed reports" of sleet above and almost broke a leg getting the window up... then realized they were from hours ago. And probably not real anyway.

THIS.HAPPENS.EVERY.SINGLE. WINTER. Remember last year how the models were so wack? And ended up with two 3" snow events imby... stop freaking out.

Was only 6yrs old and can remember it being SOOO COLD!! Seems like my grandmother got snowed in with us too! Lived in Rockwell in Rowan County att.
