Wonder if once the precip is gone temperatures drop further as more dry air builds in? Dew point is -3. There’s room to drop still.

NWS Tweet The b-word! Also, only .4” of snow through 7am. Kind of disappointing there. Hopefully the last 1.5 hours was better than that.

Just went out to try and throw some salt to do what little it can. It’s brutal with multiple layers on. I was out less than 5 minutes.

Looks like the radar filled slightly as the snow moves into Wash Co. Not a lot, but enough to keep the snow going a little longer.

Next goal for me is to break that record low. Get that first negative in December in 33 years. And first December record low in who knows how long.

Accuweather now forecasting a low of -4. That would be a record. Maybe HRRR wasn't too far off. Hopefully, we can get a few more hours of good snow rates, before it finishes up. Officially went from 40 at 5am to 13 at 7am, gusting to near 50mph.

What's the record low wind chill for Pittsburgh? Accuweather has tomorrow's low as -1 and the real feel at that time as -36. That's amazingly cold. Can't find wind chill records though. HRRR still plunging temps. Down to -8 tomorrow night into 12/24. Wind chill to -32.

SREFs up over 2" now. NWS was 1.2" earlier, up to 1.8" now. Last minute trends are good. We might have something more note worthy after all this.
