I thought when one storm comes through it sets the baroclinic zone for the next one, which essentially sets the next one up on the same track or farther east. Seems it never actually works that way at all, though.

Yeah, 6"-10" who's going to complain, even if it were a good year we shouldn't.

I've seen others on other forums say the 6z and 18z runs aren't terrible like they used to be. Not sure though.

Should we take the temps verbatim in a case like that. I mean, it is the coldest time of year historically, maybe a low that far south and east brings a little bit colder air in. Doubt it, but maybe there's a chance.

March into April will be the entire winter. It just feels like that will happen, and it will be awful.

Really is a pity EURO is bulls-eyeing us a week out. Has worked out for us this year at all.

GFS has been the worst performing model this winter. It's consistency doesn't equal being correct. The Euro has been giving us hope these last few days.

Yeah, I'm happy with anything over 2". There are a lot of those, and plenty over 6". But a 28 or 39 will do just fine.

Maybe we should take it for a grain of salt (I mean of course we should), but I'd be shocked if a track like that produced anything but snow, especially since that 540 line is well to the south and east of us.

Too bad the weather hasn’t been more favorable, because today was one of those days where the snow hung around all day. We score well with those kinds of days in better winters. Though, there is a coating out there now, and on the roads. Little victories.

Whoa, those are high hopes in even good seasons. We're lucky to get one 6"+ storm let alone two 8"+.

There seems to be too much conflicting information. I see on other forums a good period coming end of month, then more warmth, but also professionals on twitter suggesting a PV split and massive cold that can flow from ultra cold Siberia. I just think we don't have any real clue what will happen. I think it's safe to say though, that this season will end below average snow wise.

I think he was being facetious about no snow, and I feel it was more centered on the coast anyway. -

We've also seen 16 day periods say we'll get 40" and end up with nearly nothing. I don't think it's anything to worry about right now. Outside 10 days is obviously super unreliable, as we know.
