  1. Maybe, but it definitely feels like we had more than that. Hard to say, though. November had a good three, December was pretty close to what the airport reported. There was a surprise one to two though when the airport didn't report that much sometime in January. I'd saw where I am in the City definitely surpassed that 8.8" and probably 10" ot 12".
  2. That record could still be legit, who's to say Moon would have double the actual snow that year. They could have had less than the official. So, since we can't actually say what they had, you do have to take that as the record. Now the Ike record, lol, you don't have to take that since there are other (plentiful) it seems observations.
  3. I think you’re the only one still worried about getting snow this season, lol.
  4. What the Hell is all this Ike stuff all of the sudden, lol. Where did it come from?
  5. Of course, lol. However, long range has been complete shit this season, so we’ll see.
  6. Lol, where was that said. I said there were no heat waves, which is true and the total 90 degree days were below average which is true. A one off 94 degree day isn’t impressive.
  7. Everything is warmer there is no cooler anymore. At least that’s what’s been established here.
  8. Ok, I guess snow was nice while it lasted. Guess we need to all move the LA to see it.
  9. That's all interesting but can't we apply the same "logic" to summer weather that's been applied by many here for winter? The last two summers featured no actual heat waves, so we can say summers aren't reliably summery anymore in Pittsburgh. In fact in the last 7 summers, only 2 had above normal 90 degrees. That directly contradicts that charts you have. See where that sounds stupid? Two down years don't mean anything in the grand scheme. One winter doesn't tell us anything in the grand scheme.
  10. So, you conveniently left out months that contradicted the point you want to make. And haven't we been in a La Nina the past three years?
  11. Good thing I raked them as well, lol. Also, February 2015 was 13.1 below normal. No month was that positive above normal.
  12. Last Jan-Feb averaged -2.5 colder than normal, with January being over 5 degrees below normal. Jan-Feb 2021 averaged more than 1 degree below average, with February almost 4 below normal. Jan-Feb 2019 averaged less than 1 degree above normal. January -1.3 below average. Jan-Feb 2016 was average. Jan-Feb 2015 was about 8 degrees below normal, with February over 13 below normal and was the fourth coldest month of all time. Jan-Feb 2014 was about 6-7 degrees below average, with both months around 6 degrees below normal. Jan-Feb 2013 was perfectly average. Looks like four below average, two average and 4 above average. Interesting. So, out of the last ten Jan-Feb periods 7 of them topped out at no more than 1 degree above normal for the period. Please stop with the hysterics on climate change. Is it changing? Probably. Is it changing so fast that excellent winters we've had literally within the last decade will no longer exist? No.
  13. I mean the NWS keeps everything conservative snow forecasts, summer highs, winter lows, severe weather, etc. They always adjust up until the day and still are sometimes too conservative even when they've been proven wrong.
  14. I meant the dramatics of assuming that every winter will be exactly like this one from now on.
  15. What?!? I don't think severe weather is a new phenomenon in Pittsburgh, I think our NWS is just super conservative in their forecasts.
  16. Well, if LA County can get 6 feet of snow in a week, yeah, I believe we'll have another 60" season easy. Why is everyone so dramatic all of a sudden, lol? Also, I am not looking for a stormy Spring or Summer. I'm hoping for dry and warm to hot, but we'll see. I think it'll be rainy and cool through both seasons, though.
  17. Let's have a few more than one before jumping off a bridge. One data point is not a trend. Look at what they're getting out West, it is the opposite of us, does that mean their winters are like that now forever?
  18. This has been all winter, that's just the pattern and the way the models are handling it. Hopefully next season is better.
  19. Yes, hilarious, because you can't control this, so freaking out over it won't fix anything, plus it's March, so put it to bed, lol. You conveniently forget December 2020 for snow, but of course you'll probably point out that's it was an anomaly, and ignore that this season may be just that, an anomaly.
  20. Agree. This is a shitty winter, there's really nothing else to it. It's pretty much March at this point, time to fully accept defeat and hope for a better season next year, but hand wringing and freak outs at this point are almost comical.
  21. Damn, you're hard to please. The headline I heard said century's old records being broken. Whether it's monthly, all time, or daily doesn't mean it isn't cold. I guess it was a piddly -5 on December 23rd here. Not cold enough? What's a good winter going to have to be now -25 air temperature here. Those are high standards. I mean a daily record is a record. It's like saying tying the 70 record Thursday was a piddly record, because it didn't break the 78 monthly record. It's a record and you put a lot of stock in that record last week.
  22. Well sure, but we can't discredit the record cold in December, because it was potent. Plus, it was the coldest Christmas weekend in decades.
  23. Yep, century's old records being broken out there as well, just the cold records. We'll get ours again. Although, let's not forget the record cold in December, even if it was only one day it was something not seen in over 30 years.
  24. I'm glad it was drier at least. Hate too much rain, hopefully that continues through the summer at least.
