  1. I think they're probably waiting to see exactly what we just have seen in the last hour. It'll be interesting to see if they pull the trigger on anything in the next couple hours, or wait till this evening. After what I'm seeing recently I'm pretty confident for a decent amount of snow up in this area
  2. I just spoke with one of their engineers about an unrelated job, and he said exactly the same thing. Said they'd been hoping the treat would fizzle lol
  3. 20 spot right over my house... I'll believe that when the snowblower sees it!
  4. There's a pretty nice signature developing on satellite off the 'Linas. Time to keep an eye on that
  5. Certainly a lot more useful than the damn clown maps... by a factor of a million
  6. Well said... But I thought it was "Beware Romulans bearing gifts"
  7. Must have made a huge change then. I listened to him at 5:40 and he was very detailed, more so than usual
  8. Funny, Bob Cox who's usually super conservative is going with 6-12 valley north of Hartford, 3-6 south and 1-2 feet for the western hill towns... YMMV
  9. There is something to what he says. My family is from Simsbury and I work there currently. Been observing this area for 50 years (well more like 45) This is the type of storm where all bets are off as far as location. Half the time we get lucky and side closer to lower hill town weather. Fine line for sure, but my gut feeling is we do OK here. I mean, I was never expecting 2 feet from this storm anywhere anyway, so...
  10. Because most of us know it's skill isn't as a long range model. Shouldn't run as far out as it does imo
  11. Nope is right. I don't buy that for a second. We've seen that model before and in the end it's just a Consolidated single low Center somewhere
  12. I didn't think it looked bad for back our way but regardless I don't believe it's going to work out like that anyway. I'm not buying the double low thing. We've seen that before and it rarely happens
  13. It's going to be very interesting to see where banding sets up during this. If the low is truly over the Cape for a time, I have a hard time believing the valley does as poorly as some of the clowns show. Seems many times at this lead the heaviest precip is too consolidated near the low center. Modeling doesn't always do well with where the bands end up. And then, there's the latest NAM.... I don't believe that yet either
  14. Several times over the past 40 years I've seen Bradley get practically nothing and Granby center get smoked, so between you and BDL it's actually easy in the right circumstance
