  1. I realize that, however in the past it usually has had the opposite effect. Not this year haha
  2. I keep looking at it and thinking the exact same thing. I hate to even say this but even taking a peek at the water vapor Loop just bolsters that feeling. You'd swear that push coming over the Great Lakes would have some influence...
  3. True. I think the average person seems to remember wall to wall snows of yore, and the weather enthusiast will remember the rafters. I started following the weather in 1978 so pretty much seen it all!
  4. Definitely. Cold..storm comes and cuts, then cold returns. Except what was it 1990? We were wearing T Shirts while rough wiring a house in February. No cold and I think BDL had 16 inches the whole season
  5. More like the 80s winters are back. This is just like a lot of that garbage that I saw back then. I think a lot of the youngsters here just aren't old enough to remember...or were even born
  6. Go back a few posts....Remember some of that is certainly sleet as depicted
  7. 6Z GFS looks pretty much the same. Looks worlds different to me for western areas vs the Euro. It's going to be interesting to see who's more correct
  8. True. However they are still on the service side of the equation, and what they've done to that company is unbelievable...although the American way it seems. They are so incredibly top heavy with very few service and repair employees left.
  9. I agree (not that you're naive haha). If we are at this time next month...well then bring out the fork and stick it in. Fortunately I have other hobbies when there's nothing interesting to track. I am still interested in Sunday night good or bad
  10. Love Truro, been going there for years. My parents built a house there in '82. I've seen the strongest winds of my life at that place. Great watching thunderstorms come over the bay
  11. Sounds like Bob Cox on WTIC. He's ridden the GFS for years, although he does qualify the variables more these days
  12. Agreed. I want to see what the Friday deal ultimately does to influence it
  13. That was an awesome storm. Heavy heavy snow with a couple hours of sleet in the middle...and long duration. Was in Granby CT at the time
  14. Weird for sure. Same here, we were lucky to have one snow day a year in high school (Suffield) I remember one miss, I think in '85. The system called an early dismissal mid morning and the sun was out...we never got a flake. The super cold then warm and wet decade for the most part with rare exception
  15. Ahhhh the 84 hour NAM...knew someone would break it out. It looks interesting for what its worth. It will be interesting to see where we are this time tomorrow
  16. It only messes up a perfectly spotless truck...
  17. Been there many times on the sled. You know it's bad when Jackman is in short supply!
  18. Well, the driveway and walks are officially a sheet of ice. Freezing drizzle and snow grains 26°
  19. I drove back from Florida late March 1990, or 91 during a Nor'Easter. Snow started just north of D.C. Drove through it all the way to CT...in a Ford Escort! I'll never forget it!!
