  1. A surprising snow shower at my shop this morning. Snow, sleet and 28
  2. We've gone from talk of hoping for an HECS to materialize, to talk of HEMD and bad gas at the grocery store
  3. Well I was just going to type something along these lines, but you said it for me. And the news yesterday from CDC saying about 30 percent of the available U.S. doses are going to waste because of overly restrictive or P.P.P. rollout plans is just annoying. All while others are D*cking around on useless endeavours...
  4. WAY too early to be looking at OP runs for specifics. We just need a signal there for now, details later.
  5. Mother nature walked in and said bend over...with old man winter right behind
  6. Blizzard of '96 was the one I was thinking about specifically now that you mention it. Several years ago someone had posted a chart showing the state of the Atlantic during some of our more memorable storms. It made it clear how much more than just the Atlantic is needed to work things out. Seems to get forgotten here...
  7. If memory serves (probably not) haven't some of our larger storms come during a weakening phase of a - NAO
  8. I remembering it happening all too often, and not just January. But the difference was some years lots of arctic cold followed by warn cutter then back to cold. There was one year, maybe 1991 where we were practically in T shirts working outside in January
  9. I just finally got a copy of the K.U. books. Guess I'll have some time to study
  10. Agreed. Times like these I'm glad work is crazy and I have other hobbies to distract. I do however miss quiet evenings tracking storms with an adult beverage...
  11. An inch in Westfield and 2.5 in Simsbury. Usually never happens that way. Light snow and 29
  12. Yep. I'll be in the garage...getting the cars ready for spring
  13. Nice pictures! That's the storm that started my interest in weather, especially winter weather. Someday I'll find the pictures my parents took...I think they're on slides lol. Between this and a storm about a week before it we had a tremendous amount of snow on the ground in Granby CT. I've always felt that the measurements of this storm aren't exactly correct. Speaking with relatives about it and seeing a pic of my grandfather with a yardstick nearing 30 inches leads me to believe that some areas received quite a bit more than official totals. No school the whole week. My mother was surprised they cancelled school for a few flurries, but it didn't take long for that to change
  14. Nice little snow shower moving through Southwick this morning, actually coated up the roads
  15. And the current $$$tevie Nicks ruined Fleetwood mac a couple years back...
  16. 1989 is back... seriously though, let's see what shakes out after the NYE system. No reason to panic
  17. Merry Christmas everyone! Just patches of snow and snow piled next to the shed, with the genny still tucked snug in its bed. Hopefully by N.Y. weekend we'll have something to track...
  18. We were watching you get feet of snow while we enjoyed flurries. Plow guys I know we're driving down there from CT to help out because it was crickets here
  19. Thank you. It's so amusing the bridge jumpers at the first sign of no immediate flakes. Following the weather in southern New England for the last 43 years I've learned anything that falls before Christmas is a total bonus. It has been somewhat different the last so many years, but that's not the norm. It is an awesome landscape out there to enjoy right now...I think I'll take the long way home from work for the scenery.
  20. Certainly not marginal compared to the weekend...
  21. Sniffing distance yes, but be careful...could be the turd in the punch bowl that we're smelling
