  1. Really sleeting hard. Impressed at the poor conditions of secondary roads. This is Guinea Road on the way to Target:
  2. Almost all sleet in Burke. Rather this than freezing rain if we can get enough to whiten the ground.
  3. This is what’s really annoying me about this one. Max on precip with cold temps, but we rain/sleet.
  4. I’m going to HHI the first week of March, so I know in my heart of hearts that we’re going to get a phased bomb right around that timeframe. I just hope it rains on all of you when it happens.
  5. 28 in Burke with drizzle and a bit of sleet. Almost fell on my arse when stepping onto the deck.
  6. It’s going to be a miserable week or so of weather, isn’t it?
  7. That's awesome. Reminds me of the reaction when Landon Donovan scored against Algeria in the 2010 World Cup.
  8. This thread is awesome with all of its discussion about the long-term looks in the last 6 pages.
  9. Are we still getting a foot of concrete in our yards this week? No? I'll settle for logs of my dog's crap then.
  10. The end of any run is worth a pile of sh*t right now.
  11. Done right, a finger can replace 3-6”.
  12. All this snow I've got on the ground will be a frozen block of ice after this massive ice storm that's on its way.
  13. Absolutely, miserably dreary day today.
  14. Fairfax County has dropped so much salt on the roads recently that Scipio Africanus doesn't have any left to sow into the fields of Carthage.
  15. There's so much salt and sand and brine on the roads that they wouldn't need to pretreat them even if the storm dropped a foot of ice.
  16. That jayyy dude might not mean it (and I mean *might*), but his posts really don't come off well. Definitely tries the whole big d!ck snow swagger thing and is pretty condescending over all.
  17. The American programmers who enter their own data into the models know our climate better, so they’re able to get results that better reflect reality around here. That’s how it works...right?
  18. No snow on the grass in Burke except for random places that get precisely zero sun.
  19. I’m not even sure the issue was boundary temps in the city. There was simply a N-S gradient to the temps from 2m on up during the best QPF that screwed those of us on the southern edge of the precip. I’m not about all the reaping stuff (sorry, Watcher), but I’ve decided to not get invested in anything else this winter until the precip has started, and even then I’ll be wary of what’s coming (f’ing Correlation Coefficient radar - miserable POS). I’ll track and post, but I vow not to looks for any eggs, let alone put them into any baskets.
