  1. wish more mountains would take the saddleback/mrg approach of dropping ropes at the earliest opportunity. Ski patrol culture has something to do with it and in my experience the patrol at saddleback are skiers. A lot of other patrols are first responder types first, skiers second. Not taking shots at patrols, just an observation.
  2. insane, no wonder they pitch those rooves so steeply. I like powder skiing as much as the next guy/girl, but not sure I would want to deal with that as a homeowner.
  3. gives us some room for the tic back NW
  4. Holy shit man relax and enjoy it. Skiing will be a whole lot better tomorrow than it was today.
  5. FWIW euro handled last event here very well. NAM never got a clue.
  6. I just drove down to Portland today. Its winter at my place meanwhile 15 miles south it might as well be SNE. Not uncommon around here but the contrast is night and day. .
  7. Temp gradient across Newfoundland is stunning right now. Almost 40 degrees north to south.
  8. Halifax, NS warmer than Miami, FL right now.
  9. Big fatties falling. Is this from the same system as Thursday-Fri?
  10. HRRR was a little too bullish for snows on the CP here but performed better than NAM. GYX forecast was very good.
  11. You will torch better than me up on your hill
  12. Despite the rain this is great for ski areas around here. The winter vibes are strong and the ski conditions will benefit. Weather looks great for the long weekend too.
  13. I’m thinking I don’t hit 40 today
  14. 2.75” snow picking back up again. Temp up to 27. I’m headed to bed so won’t know what the total will be before the flip but maybe 3.5-4” not out of question. That’s a win and it was a beautiful day out there regardless of what tomorrow brings.
  15. really nice snowy day here. Basically been snowing since I woke up. Skiing was great. Temp is steady at 25 degrees. Will take some work to scour that cold air out so hopefully we can delay the flip for longer than modeled.
  16. Nam regressing as feared but HRRR still pressing the cold into the CP. trying to recall which model has handled things better inside 24hrs this season
  17. trys to get most of the precip in before the changover even for my area. i keep thinking this thing is closer than it is, still time for this to change 48 hrs out.
  18. Good point and I think euro led the globals on that as well
  19. I’m always skeptical of the strength of the cold air on the coastal plain. Sell that for now
  20. That’s a good forecast at this lead. Wouldn’t be surprised if that verifies.
  21. This has had that CAD look for a while now
  22. They will all thump on the front end, maybe even net gain
  23. Quiet in here. NAM has been fairly consistent with the thermals on this and here in CAD land I’m hopeful for a 2-4” thump before the flip. Maybe we net gain even down here, best we can hope for.
  24. Ya that’s going to be great when it opens. Bridgton is on the map these days. Tap house is fun too. Seems like there’s enough southern Maine/NH forum members at this point to do a gtg out this way
  25. was surprised to wake up to the plow going by and about an inch of fluff. We don’t normally get in on the fake snow fun. I’m in bethel now for work and there’s been a band just rotting overhead for at least an hour. Very wintry vibe despite lack of real pack.
