Watching that line build over northern VA. It's easy to ignore it given the huge swath of intense rain departing to the east, but if you look closely at the CAMs, there are signals for some isolated heavy cells moving across the area over the next 3-4 hours. Temperatures should rise ahead of the it, and there is a little bit of propped instability..... Curious to see if these things are anything more than brief heavy rainers.
I had actually shut down my radar programs. Worth watching!

DCA- 52 mph
IAD- 49 mph
BWI- 47 mph
If those are the peak gusts at the end of this - the earlier modest model run gusts (other than the NAM) did exceptionally well. It's interesting that as we closed in today, the models got much more aggressive.

993.5mb on the PWS
55 degrees and the high for the day. -
TVS showing up on GR2AE near Popes Creek.

Two reports of trees down on BW Parkway.
Let's see if the line can bring gusts up for a bit.

Port Royal, VA seems like they might be getting smacked right now.

There have been some go-arounds at BWI it looks like - and a few diversions.

I’m not sure what it says about me but I’m extremely tempted to fly my drone up and see what happens … for science ofc
I lost an Autel drone a few winters ago in 35-40mph winds

Wonder if the wind mixing down means the lower level stable air has eroded?
I wonder if that little "dryslot" is the warm front coming through.

Snow and sleet at 47 I call bs lol
I've seen flurries at 50 when the warm layer was very shallow. But I'm in Silver Spring and it's just pouring.

Starting to hear the wind roaring up in the top levels of the trees. Nice movement of the trees too. Going to be a lot of tree down calls coming in throughout the evening. Stay safe!

Drove from Colesville area over to Potomac/Rockville during the 6am hour. Not terrible but definitely some snow covered spots - especially where tires aren't hitting from traffic. Side roads are pretty much snow covered except where treated. Very pretty! Just wish I wasn't at work today.
