  1. This is how you bypass open container laws.
  2. Worth the cold, should be a nice right-side-up powder day.
  3. Manasquan Inlet looking dreamy and cold. Screenshotted from surfline's webcam.
  4. Birds are going nuts at the feeder now that the sun is poking out intermittently.
  5. Getting a good burst of flurries associated with some gusts here.
  6. I don't go up there often due to price, but it's a great mountain and surrounding area. Lots of great restaurants and breweries in the area to check out. Have fun.
  7. January 8-10th brought a decent portion of January's snow for you last year. What did you record for that storm cycle? I know it was really localized with Smuggs reporting 38 inches and Stowe 'only' reporting 27 inches over the 3 day period. Is that Mt. Katahdin? Looks gorgeous. Here's a picture of the Eastern face of Mount Washington on Janauary 24th of this year.
  8. Had some white rain around 1:30. High 30s and rain is my least favorite weather. I'd rather it be dry and single digits, or torching, than cold and rainy. At least I got my snow fix last weekend in NNE. It was a very interesting localized and elevation dependent orographic enhanced storm up there. Rain in the valleys and 12-15" fresh at the top of the mountains. Apparently we have to drive 8 hours to see any appreciable snow in this dismal winter.
  9. Here's a photo and a video that my buddy took of me at Jay Peak on Monday. I have a few more photos but I'm not sure how to embed them without going over the file size limit. Also I have some clips from Wildcat and Attitash that I can post when I get around to it.
  10. Awesome day at Jay. Felt nice and deep but pretty dense stuff. I'll post some pics videos when I get the chance. Was still dumping as I left.
  11. Yeah man Jay will be nice tomorrow. 6z NAM has over a foot through tomorrow afternoon here. Already around 7 inches from this storm, but it's very localized. Wildcat was ok today, 3-5 of mashed potatoes with a tenth of ice on top. Towards the afternoon it softened up but we left a bit early. Last night's sleet storm in the valley north of mt washington was insane.
  12. Snowing hard up at Jay right now. A few miles southwest in Montgomery it is barely snowing though. Tomorrow will be nice.
  13. 1.3-1.5 inches of snow/sleet here in gorham as of 10:55. I don't have a ruler but it's coming been down extremely heavily. Snow and sleet at 37 degrees so rates are poor. I'm only at 800ft elevation.
  14. Dumping snow and sleet in the valley at Gorham, NH. Camped out in the walmart parking lot, will be interesting to see what happens in the mountains. Backside upslope in NVT through Monday looks good.
  15. Wildcat was nice yesterday morning but once the top layer of dry snow was sloughed off it was a bit icy underneath. They need more snow to open more terrain. Attitash today was pretty good too. A little crowded but manageable, snow was heavier than wildcat. Flurried for a bit around noon. Was raining/freezing rain when we left at 430 and it was snowing at 1900ft going through pinkhams notch at 31f. Id love to hit up cannon tomorrow but my buddy is tied to the peak pass... and we're saving Jay for Monday.
  16. 12z gfs shows some mild upslope in the northern greens sun and mon.
  17. Well I had to strike out sometime. I did way too well last year, had to make up for it at some point. I had this thurs- mon off for a failed tahoe trip and it just happened this storm popped up so it's no big loss to me. Still gonna come up and get some riding in with friends. Thinking the whites have the best chance to stay all frozen at elevation. I would just go up to Quebec city but my buddy doesn't have a passport. Maybe I'll leave him at the border. Thanks for all your insight guys.
  18. Off topic.... but is this lights out for NNE or could we see a shift south with the ULL and stay frozen in the mtns?
  19. I was hoping the whites will get the goods too, as well as NVT. Theres no coverage in the southern mtns right now so even with a good bit of snow the trees are mostly a no go. Seems like NVT is getting shadowed by the whites or there's just not enough qpf making it up there from the east. I still think the whites can do okay though.
  20. Interesting to see wayne got almost 20 more inches than phoenixville. Could that be because wayne is on a ridgeline? The town part of phoenixville is only about 100-200ft above sea level. Wayne is probably closer to 400-500ft.
  21. Keeping a close eye on this one as I'll be in VT and NH for the storm.
  22. Drove from phoenixville to kop and the backroads that weren't treated were really slippery, but the treated roads were mostly just wet and patchy. Lots of people out, drive safe if you have to go out.
  23. I think they meant to post in the NNE thread.
