  1. I mean DC already has close to a foot on the ground at that point.
  2. Mix is part of it if you want the goods. Unfortunately.
  3. This is the perfect progression for our big storms. Primary into TN or KY and a jump to the Carolinas border. I am good with where we are now. No further north. Even for me.
  4. Driving the primary into Nashville like the Euro now. It's gonna be a bomb
  5. Substantially north. That is .3 total precip more for the northern crew
  6. NAM is the NAM. But it already opens the southern wave at 51 and has much less confluence in the east. It would be more north than the GFS imo. Not even gonna look beyond that. No point.
  7. Sorry to jump in from the NOVA forum. I am out in Winchester. Dont sweat the mixing too much. This is a really rare airmass we are going to be dealing with. CAD is all the way down to SC. Even if you mix all of you will get buried before the switch. This is going to be one historic storm for VA. Possibly the biggest ever as far as the number of counties hit. Crazy stuff.
  8. A lot more members jack our area now than at 12Z. Really good sign.
  9. A few miles NW of there up off of 522.
  10. This is a rare storm as far as thermals go. We have legit arctic air in place for this one. I want it as amped as it can get.
  11. Mixing is why I think the jack ends up a little north of you. Maybe like Ediburgh to Stafford? Something like that.
  12. Being honest I was never sweating the 12Z GFS run. We dont have a big storm without that model losing it 4 or 5 days before onset. It is like clockwork.
  13. Agree. And every little bit of weakening will bring the jack north a little bit.
  14. Still think the jack ends up north of Richmond. Not really sure where. But maybe a line from Harrisonburg east. Something like that.
  15. CCB fires up at 126 over NOVA/DC. This is going to be filthy.
  16. Was just going to post this. HP was slightly weaker this run. ICON is heavy snow at 9 degrees out this way. Amazing run.
  17. Man. Watching some live vids of LE in NY right now. They are getting hammered. Heavy snow and 14 degrees. Hopefully a taste of what we will be seeing in a couple of days. Although from completely different synoptics
  18. Interesting that storm was also followed by a major arctic blast. Richmond recorded it's record low of -12 on the 29th.
  19. I was in Atlanta for a wedding during an ice storm in the late 90's. Dont remember the exact date. I was in Conyers actually. The house I was ain backed up to a pine forest. And I can still remember the sound of 15 inch diameter pine trees snapping in half. Power was out for days. It was one of the most incredible weather related things I have ever seen/heard.
  20. Sleet bombs can be fun. Especially with an arctic outbreak following it. Literal glacier situation.
  21. I could see this being one of those where the local mets go 4-8. Then up it to 6-10. Then up it again to 10-14. I used to love watching Bob Ryan constantly upping the totals. Always made me chuckle. He was the original DC snow weenie.
