  1. Really need to see soundings to see where that warm nose is if you cant see the 700 maps.
  2. NWS Wakefield update from a couple of hours ago:
  3. Does the old BUFKIT site still work. I used to have it bookmarked on an old laptop. But cant find it anymore.
  4. A couple pages back PSU gave the explanation to me. The 50/50 moving out quickly because of not ideal blocking.
  5. For what it's worth DT agrees with you. He's saying 20+ for the Shen Valley and Western Md. Possibly pushing east of the Blue Ridge. Really worried about the temps over the next couple weeks. Lots of retired folks out this way that are going to need help digging out.
  6. Its actually dangerous imo. Especially for the areas that are getting freezing rain out of this. Power outages at those temps is no joke.
  7. Well that is certainly disheartening.
  8. Yeah. it keeps the upper levels below zero for the duration DC and NW. Regardless, you are going to get hammered with the front end thump even if it does flip. Really nice storm for you too.
  9. It's frigid for 2 weeks after that. Snow covered ground for a month probably.
  10. 1.5 QPF at those temps is probably realistically pushing 20 inches out here. I still think we will mix out here as well though. Insane run.
  11. Man. That is a catastrophic ice storm for southern VA. Temps in the low 20s during that freezing rain.
  12. Just looking at the AI temp panels and it does push the 700 temps close to freezing just south of DC. My wag is it is all snow from DC north and west.
  13. If anybody wants DT's most recent take here it is:
  14. Would probably snizzle for a while after the thump and dry slot. I'll take it.
  15. I am just trying to understand how it can cut like that? That is a stout banana high. I would think it would try to jump way earlier than that. But again. I dont know anything apparently.
  16. How is the Canadian is cutting into that banana high? I dont understand anything anymore.
  17. Hard to find anyone in our thread that would be pissed about this snow depth map.
  18. Really starting to wrap up at 93. Maybe a bit sloppier phase than 6z?
  19. ICON snow depth map is basically a foot from just south of DC north and west after the event.
  20. Cold air still pouring south on the NAM. Really looks great imo.
  21. CAD at onset is really tasty on the NAM though. With the cold air still pouring down east of the mountains. A lot of cold air to scour out before any flip.
  22. Its amped for sure. Sub 1000 in CO. First flakes out this way Saturday afternoon. Was lining us up for a pummeling.
  23. I was referring to how slow the model was running. Havent even looked at any of the plots yet
