  1. My gut tells me this torch is muted somewhat. The more north and east you are, the better. Could be mild in New England, somewhat normal in the Maritimes, and down right chilly in Newfoundland. The cold air is lurking and maybe we get backdoored sort of speak.
  2. Yes that is in cms. So 16” in Yarmouth to 10 out east. Environment Canada always goes a little conservative but a foot is possible if everything comes together in my opinion. #NovaScotiaStrong
  3. Lol. Not quite. 6-10” is the official call. Solid snowstorm for the start of the season. Nothing crazy. #NovaScotiaStrong
  4. Shaping up to be a classic Nova Scotia crusher. Didn’t expect one so early but I’ll take what I can get. Maybe I’ll have a crusty snow patch left for Christmas. #NovaScotiaStrong
  5. Solid warning event here if guidance holds with death band tantalizing close. Another tick or two west and double digits might be attainable.
  6. GFS not backing down. Thought it would move east. All other guidance seems to be trending more offshore. #NovaScotiaStrong
  7. Crush job on the 18z gfs. Still a lots of time but that would be fun. I can remember a few winters up this way where the first storm of the season ended up being the biggest of the winter. #NovaScotiaStrong
  8. Shame the pattern goes to kaka after this system but we know that's going to happen (or pretty sure). Focus on one storm at a time. Get some numbers on the board.
  9. Blended guidance is a decent hit for a lot of folks. Adds a bit more confidence. Hope this one doesn't fade
  10. Can’t wait for the 2021 version of “A Christmas Cutter” Nothing more festive than eggnog and thongs. #NovaScotiaStrong
  11. Was an active run of the GFS. Threats with frequent cool/cold shots. Sign me up even if nothin pans out. That's a tasty look.
  12. Pattern did set up a snower just not for most of us. Congrats Nick. Looks like about half a foot on picture. Nice start. #NovaScotiaStrong
  13. CMC also has the follow up wave. Some timing issues between models but looks like around first week of the month is a time to watch. #NovaScotiaStrong
  14. CMC cooking something up around same time. #NovaScotiaStrong
  15. Thanks Nick. I'm hopeful the ridge breaks down and the westerlies give it the boot but some of the models sure want to make us sweat alittle. example 12z euro. Yikes.
  16. Shit that's a direct hit. Thankfully it's 10 days out but I don't like the theme lately. Not sure why the Maritimes are a hotbed for tropical activity now...lol
  17. Sam looks about to take off. Impressive already. Hey Nick, Are we gonna have to watch this up here? #NovaScotiaStrong
  18. Hope this guy doesn’t shawshank us. #NovaScotiaStrong
  19. Looking through the pictures on Twitter the damage looks Juan ish. Maybe not quite as bad but close with tree damage and roof/siding damage. The storm surge on the other hand was impressive. 1.5m above high tide is no slouch for around these parts. I think Juan was around 1m and that was a record for here. All in all solid storm with a stout core that seemed bulletproof. #NovaScotiaStrong
  20. Nick about to get wrecked. Core just about to hit St. John’s. Not gonna be pretty there in the morning. #NovaScotiaStrong
  21. Shits about to get real in YYT St.John’s. Lighthouse not far away had a gust to 182kmh in the last hour and the core is still to come in. Gonna be a mess there. #NovaScotiaStrong
  22. Hate to say it but Nfld. was due for a landfall. Hope everyone is prepped up. It will come in like Juan did here in Halifax. Breezy and a few gusts then all of a sudden it’s like all hell breaks loose for a few hours then back to gusty. That’s the difference with having a core and being ET. Looks like St. John’s will be in that core for a bit. Days without power seem likely. I’m curious to see what the storm surge will be like on the south coast. It’s sparsely populated but could see significant damage. Good luck to Nick and the rest of the folks. Follow #nlwx for latest goings on. #NovaScotiaStrong
  23. Nick, I hope you guys are ready. This will be the real deal for Avalon and St. John’s. I’m expecting damage Igor style. A little lighter on precip heavier on winds. #NovaScotiaStrong
  24. Surf and swells for most on the northeast. Igor redux for St. John’s. #NovaScotiaStrong
  25. 12z euro has an Igor look to it. Avalon is due for a tropical trouncing.
