  1. Yeah the pics I saw didn’t look like 20’ but even half that would still be a tremendous dump. Although that much snow would probably compact significantly.
  2. The GFS likes the Ottawa to Gaspe corridor for good snows. Scraps and nada for most everyone else. This winter doesn’t want to play ball even in the final innings.
  3. Just read about some village in Turkey that got 20 feet of snow from one blizzard. Impressive.
  4. Surprise 3" of fluffy snow last night. Temp 30F.
  5. Hope the CMC works out. Oh how we pray although this winter it's the model with the worst possible solution that is correct.
  6. This. You can’t lipstick that pig. It never came together as advertised. .
  7. This event blew chunks even up here. Forecast was for 4-6” and ended with 1.75”. Another close in model fail. Becoming almost routine now. Glad this winter is past the halfway point.
  8. Ripping pretty good here. 1.5” down. Hoping for another 4-6. Temp just below zero so snow is gonna be a bear to move later.
  9. Mass casualty incident on the Tobin. Gronk doing PSA's about the danger of toasters in bathtubs instead of eating Tide pods.
  10. well the models being inconsistent(long and even short term), including the normally rock steady euro, is not helping the mood either. It's like getting kicked when you are already down.
  11. Looks decent up here. Too bad you can't lock anything in until 3hrs before the start of the event. In that regard, still a long way to go.
  12. Euro is serviceable up here but I don’t trust that model anymore. Let me down too many times at the moment of truth.
  13. I’m keeping an eye on that tues/wed system. Long shot with limited cold air but with a favourable track, might be sneaky. Pattern does look bleak in the long range though.
  14. and even crazier, it has done less folding in the short term than the euro. Maybe a new European sheriff in town...lol
  15. Just passing hour 14 of FzRa. Solid 10-15 mm glaze on flat surfaces. Not sure of radial amounts. Maybe half that. Trees are sagging. Still lgt to mod precip falling. Temp -2c. Expecting temps to spike later along with 55-60mph gusts as storm deepens in the GOM. Will be a miracle if i keep power.
  16. Some takeaways. Kill a horse. Don’t ride the euro. Gfs not to be tossed. Carry on.
  17. I hope this ticks more west. I really don’t want ice. Got no use for it. I’ll take a rainer on this one. It’s not like I got pack to protect. Wipe the slate, start anew.
  18. Another sub par performance by the euro. That model just can’t seem to find its footing this winter. We need the euro of yore. .
  19. The kicking team is about to take the field and punt this week.
  20. At least it's going the wrong way early. Better than to have it drag out like there's a chance. Maybe after next weekend things will look up.
  21. I had 33cms(13”) back on January 8th .
  22. Lots of time left. All be surprised if we don’t see another biggie or two. I actually like this winter. The chances are there, we just are barely missing. Better than last year where every storm went west of us and we had no chance. I’ll roll the dice with this pattern. Meanwhile I’ll put this debacle storm in the rear view mirror. Doubt the models will do this poor on a system again.
  23. 1.5” final. Grass is covered again. YYT getting the goods now but they’ll pay the price later when it milds up and flips to rain. Gander and points west will be the place to be. .
  24. Hey could be worse. Models had me getting close to a foot or more for almost an entire week lead time only to start folding inside 48hrs. Euro was the last to pack up the tent too. Inside 30hrs. Terrible modeling of this system. I’ll be lucky to score an inch. Onward and upward. .
