  2. WB 12Z GEFS looks like it trended closer to coast for Friday.

  4. If NAM is correct, WInter Storm Watches should go up for parts of the area. Maybe if the 0Z looks as good....
  5. I think it looks pretty good 4-5 days out. Let's see what GEFS says....need a little more dig, more neutral to negative trough , and note the stronger west coast ridge. Now the experts can say I'm wrong....

NWS: A PERIOD OF LIGHT TO MODERATE SNOW WILL AFFECTSOUTHEASTERN WASHINGTON AND SOUTHEASTERN CARROLL COUNTIES IN NORTH CENTRAL MARYLAND...NORTHWESTERN HOWARD AND NORTH CENTRAL MONTGOMERY COUNTIES IN CENTRAL MARYLAND...FREDERICK COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL MARYLAND...WEST CENTRAL BALTIMORE COUNTY IN NORTHERN MARYLAND...NORTHWESTERN LOUDOUN COUNTY IN NORTHERN VIRGINIA...EAST CENTRAL FREDERICK...CLARKE COUNTIES IN NORTHWESTERN VIRGINIA AND SOUTHERN JEFFERSON COUNTIES IN THE PANHANDLE OF WEST VIRGINIA... Snow will coat the ground in spots late this morning, and with temperatures near freezing this may coat untreated surfaces as well. Wind gusts around 30 to 40 mph combined with the snow may reduce visibility to near one-half mile at times. Locations impacted include... Frederick, Westminster, Damascus, Charles Town, Harry Grove Stadium, Eldersburg, Reisterstown, Ballenger Creek, Mount Airy, Purcellville, Brunswick, Walkersville, Ranson, Sykesville, Berryville, Braddock Heights, Oakland, New Market, Round Hill, and Harpers Ferry. This includes the following highways... Interstate 70 in Maryland between mile markers 42 and 75. Interstate 270 in Maryland between mile markers 23 and 32. Be prepared for slippery surfaces when traveling. Slow down and allow extra time to get to your destination.

  9. WB 6Z GEFS, think we need the trough to take on a more negative tilt for it to work. Not sure if that is possible....
  10. Actually whether we get a big snow this week, we are getting a week of winter. Enjoy it! Wed. Morning could have a coating to a couple of inches and temps below 20.... when is the last time we had that?!!! WB 18Z EURO
  11. WB 12Z GEFS has some support for Friday, but I agree with the general feeling if EURO does not show it too who cares.
  12. MJO looks like it will be heading toward 8 as we go into February, which is good.
