  1. I had also said this would be silly to wish for a hurricane. I agree that it would be very exciting, however, I ventured a guess that people would love it. Don't have a house that they own or worry about damage to their property. If they do have a house and they don't care about that, more power to em. I stopped saying anything because people blast you when you say it's silly to wish for something that would devastate the area.
  2. Trust me... I love the idea of the hurricane.... but.. I really don't want to worry about trees hitting my home or being without power for many days. Sandy affected friends of mine down on the shore and they lost everything. So... yes.. i love a good hurricane ( when I was younger I even hurricane chased when there was Bob that hit Rhode Island, it was exhilarating ). But not now
  3. There was never really a good chance of this hitting Southern New England. It was even a stretch touching Cape cod. I'd rather have a massive blizzard than a devastating hurricane. You still get all the excitement, and yes you still get some issues with a blizzard, but you don't get the widespread damage that you would get with a hurricane.
  4. I agree, but your buddy Kevin is bracing for a storm and no one's telling him otherwise...lolol
  5. Way to confident man. Don't see this doing much for us in Ct. I know you want an Ass Blaster.... but you may have to settle for a French Tickler
  6. I'm glad that the prospects of it hitting the Northeast are less. But like everyone, here, there is a strange excitement with a storm like this getting close to the east coast. But I don't want the damage, flooding, and power outages that comes with a storm like this
  7. The other thing is this. We had a La Nina for this past Winter and look at the record amount of Snow and Rain that the West got..and not the Northwest, but California..Nevada..Utah...ect... So.. there can and will be other factors at play with The El Nino coming. I've learned that there is ZERO guarantee of suggesting that next Winter will either great or bad ( just look at what happened this Winter for us here ). Not sweating anything until we actually start and are well into December to get somewhat of a good read on what may happen for 2023/2024 Winter.
  8. I'm wondering what that's going to do to next Winters weather? Also, I know I've heard strong El nino, low hurricane season. Season. But this season was a la Nina and we had hardly any hurricanes or storms for that matter. I guess we'll see what happens
  9. I have to say... You were right with temps being in the 60's for a few days this week. Nice call!
  10. Dude, where are you seeing that It's going to be in the '60s? I think we have a shot of hitting 60, one of the three days in the middle of the week, maybe two. However, not one of the three weather outlets in Connecticut show 60s for any of the days inland for next week.
  11. TT is already calling next winter off lol He posted the Noah maps for the temperature outlook for December, January, February. As if that'll stick right now. I'm just ready for the warm weather for now. Until next year. Enjoy the summer you guys, let's have a nice big tropical storm come up here. See you later
  12. Where do you see 60's? Lol. I see temps in the mid 50's for the week.. ( one met shows 60 for next Wednesday ) However, I hope that I'm wrong and the forecast I'm reading are wrong and we are in the 60s.
  13. Well this is the heaviest snow since the storm began for us here. Everything's covered again. When it's all said and done we may have broken an inch and a half lol. A fitting in to a lackluster winter. I'm actually happy for the people to my door and west that got a dumping. It was a great store for other people around me. Next year, across fingers, should be better!
  14. I'm at work now in West Hartford. Same here with snizzle. Isn't it supposed to pick back up and fill back in soon or are we going to stay dry slotted all day? Edit.... Now look at the radar. It seems like the hole is now starting to fill in more around the edges. My gut is within the hour. This hole will be filled in. We pray
  15. I have to share one of the most rare and odd phenomenons I've seen. I live in a small town Plainville. I got the call at about 5:30 this morning. The schools are canceled. I went and looked outside and I saw that it was snowing mixed with rain and there wasn't really anything on the ground. I'm heading to work now. It is snowing now and starting to stick everywhere, however, the other half of town already had more snow on the ground. The rain snow line must have been on our town which is why they canceled school. They're never seen anything like that before in such a small town and it wasn't like it was a higher elevation. Anyway, it's snowing everywhere now and seems like it's going to be a snowy day
  16. I don't know, the schools just left me a message on the phone that they paid the hard decision to cancel schools because of the snow it was reported by the bus drivers and the town starting to accumulate the roads. I think it's premature, but I guess they want to take my the safe route
  17. I'm down here on the Farmington line in Plainville. It's 36°, and there are big snowflakes mixed in with the rain. We also have that heavy rain that moved in so I'm sure that's drawing in some of the cold air from above. You should be getting into this shortly as well
  18. Hey man, it's coming down here too. Also 36. I'm sure now that there's some big flakes mixing in with the rain at this point.
  19. Steadily creeping down. Now 36. Still rain
  20. I'm somewhat envious. Probably not going to be much here. But, I'm not the valley floor either. We shall see. 13 miles west of Hartford...so, I should see something sitting just under 500'.
  21. This is so touch and go for where we are. I just looked outside again and I could swear I saw a few cat pours mixed in with the rain. But that also could just be my eyes deceiving me for what I'd like to see lol. I'll do it one more time before bed tonight.
  22. 37 here... Still raining, but I feel like I saw a couple of cat paws. I'm up close to 500 ft, but it just could be wishful thinking at the moment lol.
  23. Yeah, I'm down to 37 here in Plainville. I am up a little bit in elevation. I'm so curious what I'm going to wake up to. But wake up to just rain then I'll know we're not going to get much snow, but if I wake up to snow or at least a mix then I think that we can get a little pasting tomorrow
  24. Got to say after all the insane model runs, this map seems pretty likely. You must be a meteorologist or something.. ;-)
