Are we talking about cold, or is there still a chance of snow for the 3rd

I totally get what you're saying. But I also get what other people are saying. We've had a lot of opportunities that have slipped away as far as a big storm idea for our area. However, it's not over. Big things have happened in March. And we are in a pattern where if it breaks right, we could have something big. With that said, I understand where you're at, part of me is trying to separate that winter's almost over, but the other part of me tells me that there have been many opportunities in March that we've seen that put big smiles on everyone's faces. Just be careful what you say, because if something big does come along, you know you yourself will be just as happy and part of the conversation

The least Mother nature could do for us is let us go out with a bang with a historic storm. I think that would suffice

I remember this. I was living in Avon and everything was covered trees and all when I got up in the morning. It was very cold because my drive to work come although it was April, the roads were covered with a sleep freezing rain mix as well. What a few-day stretch of winter weather

So true. It's been so cold that as soon as our dog pooped, it was almost frozen in a short period of time

Yeah, this is definitely Dead in the water. Still a hard one to swallow though. From what we saw 5 days ago. All the models last week were showing it and it was on the radar of all the forecasts for this Thursday until we hit Sunday of this weekend, and then it all went downhill from there LOL. Oh well, we'll get our storm. Just don't know when

I would agree with you on this. As far icon, I don't understand why we use that at all. When has it ever been correct. It usually follows the large big guys like the GFS or Euro, but I would never use the icon as something to look forward to.

Didn't the Euro last night also show some kind of pullback of some of the snow. Almost like an inverted trough ish. That could be something, but again, it would probably only affect areas all the way out east

I think what's happening is that the atmosphere around the world has been so volatile lately. Lot of things going on, lot of fast flows. It throws everything off and it's very hard to figure out what pieces will come together. As far as the storm for Thursday and The NAM model bringing it further north... It probably isn't correct, but we have had some instances where a storm would start to trend back Northwest slowly. I remember a few times where our storm Even within 24 to 36 hours kept on trending further Northwest where it would bring snows back into Connecticut, even when it showed a few days earlier. Nothing. So there's always that possibility. But I'm not wearing rose colored glasses, and I do not expect this to happen. But if it does, it would be a nice surprise for everyone

Yes she is. It wouldn't be torture though if she could just cough up a major Snowstorm for us. But with the way things keep happening ( when it comes to a pure snow event ), The big ones keep going south. God willing, we'll have a good year as far as having some major snowstorms in the future.

I know . It's been on my mind too. I really thought this was the one. But, I will say that the GFS was the one that never really showed it hitting us. The your own even the Canadian did show ( And I believe a few of the other models too ) A big hit. So to me the Euro gets an F on this. It started to lose it over the weekend.

If this comes back... It would be like a holy Grail of a touchdown throw with 3 seconds left in the game. It's gone in my eyes though.

I really had high hopes this Winter. Again..all the ingredients were there for a great run of Snow for our area. Nothing ever really panned out. It is so disappointing to say the least ( and both major models did a horrible job showing loads of Snow for us too ). Seems like anything that could have gone wrong, did for our area. Of course areas to our north have done very well, and areas down in the mid Atlantic same ( geez, even the actual Gulf coast has a crazy Snowstorm!! ). We couldn't buy one if we tried. Anyway, could there be a surprise for us as we head into March, sure, but not holding out anymore hope. Now, on the positive side, we have had cold weather, and what snow we did have ( albeit on the lower side ) has stayed on the ground.... So at least it felt like Winter. As we've said the last several years, " Maybe next year ".

So what time should we anticipate these winds starting to ramp up? I'm sure all of our trees are still iced up, just as well as they've been. I'm just wondering what these winds will do when they start moving them around

Strange, it's actually sleeting here now. Usually that means it's getting colder just above us

I have an Android. I don't know if it gives me the same options. I tried a bunch of things and nothing works. It's frustrating. I'll be heading to the dark side soon though. The rest of my family have iPhone so I was the last one holding out. Next phone will be an iPhone

Uugghh... I had 4 large limbs come down off our Huge Pine tree ... Unfortunately it came down right on top of the carport we have outside ( thankfully my husband and mother-in-law's car are inside the garage )... But mine is smashed... Can't get the metal frame off the car, as well as the snow and Ice. Now we have the winds coming.... This is why I DON'T LIKE ICE STORMS.

Well... Bernie Rayno says he thinks this is a done deal for the Northeast. He thinks New York City and Philadelphia are on the edge but doesn't think it's coming north anymore. He said he was pretty surprised himself. It's just the way everything's been going this year. It's amazing how things are falling in the wrong direction for most storms when it comes to a pure snowstorm. And I'm talking for the tri-state area. I'm glad that Northern New England's getting slammed, and even the Mid-Atlantic has had some good storms. But, time is running out for us this year. It's on to next year soon. And it'll be here sooner than we know it
