  1. Yes..... Tolland is supposed to be encapsulated in solid ice. People from around the world will visit and be awe struck by the Ice Castles as the town will be covered for months.
  2. Not at this time of the year. We're below freezing in the low Sun angle. You don't get much melting
  3. I'll take mood flakes or even adjusting to an inch on Christmas Eve. But no more than that. We travel down to my sister's in Fairfield which is about an hour away and it's a big deal with my entire family. I don't want it to be ruined by a snowstorm on Christmas Eve ( And trust me, I'm as big of a weenie as most of you on here when it comes to snow )
  4. Man, that sucks for you. Between yesterday afternoon and then late last night into this morning we received another couple inches. So we're probably up around 6ish inches at this point.
  5. Snowing here again ( for the last 35 minutes ). Let's see if we can get another 1/2"-1" with this last round. Seems to be moving slow
  6. Did anybody hear about that report of a funnel cloud in Pennsylvania with a snow shower? It was at Harrisburg international airport. That's really odd
  7. Looks nice. We are coming down steadily again. Temps are dipping lower. The roads should start to show that as well shortly
  8. Are we still going to see snow showers overnight into Saturday Morning? I thought they mentioned that? Or once this is done... It's done?
  9. Man... I'm liking the way the radar is blossoming to the south and at the same time.. that area of Precip backing in from the cape looks to converge. I guess we shall see what happens.
  10. Starting to see a light dusting on the grassy surfaces even on the sides of the road here, but the roads themselves are just wet still
  11. Is now snowing mixed with Graupel here. It's pretty steady.
  12. I'm really liking the way all that precipitation is blossoming half the Long Island all the way down to New Jersey coast coming in a bit. And it looks like it's moving pretty much due north Northeast. I have some hope that this will give us a surprise. As far as now, very ominous looking outside, the skies have gotten grayer and it looks like it wants to snow at any moment.
  13. Okay do tell. Nothing at all or bumped back Northwest. At this point. I really don't care, as long as we get an inch to coat the ground I'd be happy
  14. I've learned in this forum that there's going to be your perpetual complainers, Debbie Downers, obvious optimists, and your flip floppers.... Together we make a forum!! ( I mean imagine how boring it would be if we're all the same ). ;-)
  15. Well why not just show them. We're only a day away.. not the smaller models better with short-term forecasts over the larger models
  16. I remember the storm too. They gave us early dismissal at school. I lived in Fairfield, Connecticut. I was a senior in high school. We waited and waited and waited. It was a bust. We were disappointed but it was still fun as I was with all my friends. Just hanging out. Having supposed snowstorm party LOL ( to be honest, I don't even know if we had any accumulation )
  17. It's bound to happen. It's happened in the past ( Even within the 30 years that you're talking about ). It's quite normal to have a stretch of a year or two where things don't go as planned. The good news is, we get this out of the way and get closer to having a good streak. It'll happen.
  18. Boy... Can't you be happy about anything? Be happy that it will be festive and how looks optimistic that it will be snow not rain ( at this point ). Merry Xmas!!
  19. Yes, and from what I'm seeing four for next week into New Year, the warm-up has settled back. Temperatures seem to stay into the 30s until midweek next week now, and then the low 40s towards the end of the week. Originally they were showing getting close to 50
  20. Is this something we can put some stock into, or is this a tiny chance? Just not sure how much doctor put into this particular model
