  1. Funny how the GFS has nada but the FV3 has a monster. Honestly don't trust either of these beyond 48 hours.
  2. Measured 5.5 inches in Hyde Park. We never went above freezing and now 22 with some very light snow.
  3. Me too, dropped 8* since precip started. I'm down to 19 now with moderate snow.
  4. 23/20 with light snow, about a half inch so far.
  5. Steady light snow now. Picked up in a hurry.
  6. 27/17 in Hyde Park, NY. Saw a few flurries earlier but just overcast now.
  7. Everything basically. NWS Albany gives you about 7 inches of snow and .30 ice and some sleet and even rain tomorrow morning possibly.
  8. Dude, you just don't give up do you. I'm sorry Queens is going to rain.
  9. Explain to me what is unfavorable about a foot of snow even if it changes to rain for a brief period Sunday morning. Nobody in this forum is expecting an all snow event but it remains pretty clear that areas north and west will be significantly impacted by a mixture of snow, sleet, and icing.
  10. So what, maybe Sunday morning when they have already received a foot of snow.
  11. Yes, most guidance has me starting between 6 and 8 and changing over to sleet around 2 to 3 am. Thats plenty of time for a good front end thump of snow.
  12. You keep saying "our area" like everybody on this board lives in Queens. There are many posters on this board who are north and west of the city and will have significant impacts from this storm. I've watched the city and Long Island get a foot of snow while I'm sucking virga in hudson valley, so guess what, it's a big area.
  13. Current temp 31* with a DP of 15* here in mid-hudson valley.
  14. A lot of what falls is going to be sleet. That is very different from ZR.
  15. What is your definition of an ice storm? I'm 10 miles north of Poughkeepsie up route 9 and I am not expecting an ice storm. NWS Albany has us for 6-10 inches total of sleet and snow and about .10 of ice. I could see where I get 6 inches of snow from say 7pm to 2-3am and then quite a bit of sleet and then some freezing rain but I believe that that ice aspect will only be max maybe .20 inch which is not an all out ice storm like you describe.
  16. If you are in Poughkeepsie you are going to get 6 to 8 hours of moderate to heavy snow before mix or changeover to sleet.
  17. You are grilling the guy who took the time to make a pretty damn good map considering the complexities involved. If you don't like it then listen to your local forecasters.
  18. The guy is the only one here to have the balls to make a snow map for a complex setup and thermal profiles. Why are you busting them?
  19. Its not just northern half of Sullivan county that sees significant snow. Anybody 50 miles north and west of city should get significant wintry precip.
