About Me
I graduated from SUNY Albany with a BS in Atmospheric Science in 1989. Next cam 1 year of grad school in Atmospheric Science until I decided that my calling was to teach 9th graders I then got my masters in teaching and have been teaching Earth Science, Meteorology and Physics ever since. I taught for 2 years at Albany Academy for Girls, and have now been at Voorheesville High School for the last 17 years. I have taught ATM 100N through SUNYA's University in the High School program for several years.
I live in Slingerlands, NY in a restored farmhouse with my wife of 19 years (Amy) and my 2 kids (Abby - 11, and Ben - 14). We own Emack & Bolio's Ice Cream Parlor and Coffee House on Delaware Ave. in Albany. I love to back country ski, snowshoe, hike, paddle, backpack and play the guitar. Both of my kids and I are pursuing our ADK 46. I spend way to much time in the winter tracking snowstorms. I play in the snow constantly!
