    Both models last night (GFS and Euro) bring the goods in about a week. Lots to track, active period. Now we watch it sort itself out.

    There was until about 4 hours ago…we had, at least in Williamsville, roughly 2”. It’s a memory now but at least through a good portion of today we had snow OTG. Here’s to a Merry Christmas to all my fellow weather weenies, your families and friends to a safe, healthy holiday…and here’s to the collection efforts we’ve been secretly holding for TugHills long overdue relocation to that lonely house in the hinterlands. May we all get a shit ton of snow in January and beyond!

    Moderate snow in Williamsville ATM…of course it’s as useful to me as a brinks truck full of money that rolls over, dumps its contents on the ground only to realize it’s marked and unusable…

    THE kick in the jimmy? The 12z has a HP so strong the systems in the LR fizzle out or get pushed south!!! I keep looking for the cameras because this has to be a sit-com…

    I guess Tugs point might be that it seems the triggers keep changing seemingly year to year. We always knew that a strong/super El Niño produced mild winters with much below average snowfall in the NE. We also knew that weak El Niño or La Niña we’re cold drivers with AN snows…issue us that seems to have changed. Now it’s a raging PAC that acts like a super Nino with out the characteristics that would create that scenario.

    Looking like the weeklies failed as well. Also looks like the back to back Nina with more snowfall is very much in jeopardy

    Yes because the rest of the run after is cutter city. The ensembles are taking a beating. I’m starting to face reality that we’re not going to see much if a winter this year, save for a few cold shots here and there. Me thinks an an all time low snowfall or in the top 5 might be achievable this year.

    I think there is a lot more winters like that, however, the stretches we haven’t seen snow this season seems strange. Maybe we all have our own idea of what winter is “supposed “ to be but in reality we just blocked out much of the crap years or periods

    GFS ALMOST gets most of us to snow, or is slowly trying…while I’m not seriously thinking anything will happen, I am liking the period after Xmas for some deeper longer lasting cold with opportunities

    And that’s the funny part is last weeks the GEFS showed cold air and I came at you stating as much while the EPS said warm, now they switch? This is a truly depressing winter.
