  1. And possibly facing the 49ers? .
  2. “…it seems such a discordantly humdrum interest for a human being of such otherworldly talent. Mike Trout: A generational athlete who also happens to geek out over online interactions with meteorologists.” https://ftw.usatoday.com/lists/mike-trout-gave-a-mlb-lockout-update-on-the-weather-channel-after-giving-his-own-personal-weather-report .
  3. Got meatballs going after shoveling and sledding in stupid cold conditions. .
  4. Luckily I was able to stop square dancing long enough to take the farmhands into town to go sledding. It was 15° with a steady breeze. Reminded me of 1994 a little bit because I sledded this same hill in that winter when it was as cold and colder. .
  5. We had a ton in Morris County in January 2016, March 2018, and February 1, 2021. Were you here then? .
  6. Just goes to show why they’re historical. It doesn’t come together often. .
  7. 17° and snow winding down here, give or take a half foot of windblown powdery goodness, and I’m off to shovel soon and then come back inside and make meatballs for dinner. .
  8. I think what’s interesting about our perspectives is that two of my favorite recent storms - December 30, 2000 and March 6, 2018 - don’t mean much to people in our eastern region, while they loved that early January 2018 storm, February 2013, and probably this one, because of how it performed. It’s definitely our recency/personal bias at play that if it didn’t impact you (or really, the city), it didn’t happen. .
  9. Honest question: why do some people hug models and not see a bigger picture or trends, whether good or bad? I’m not trained, so just asking. .
  10. Isn’t it amusing that it’s the same thing year after year? Some people chase models as if they’re gospel, when they’re just a bow in the quiver of knowledge we have. Anyway, I have no idea what I’m talking about, but all of this has happened before, and all of this will happen again. .
  11. I just woke up a little while ago… how did the surface low end up tracking and precipitation shield go versus what was expected since last night? .
  12. Fun to see, right? I like this kind of storm - snow swirling and wind howling, but not a stupid amount. And I can say that after having three big storms in the past five or so years in my neck of the woods, so I’ve been spoiled enough. .
  13. Maybe 3-5” so far at MMU, but the wind has been howling. Lots of drifting for the moderate amount of snow we’ve gotten. .
  14. I’m not from there, but I don’t get why some people on Long Island don’t think the NJ suburbs count as the metro area. .
  15. I want this as the new Live, Laugh, Love sign. .
  16. It did start in Morristown. Interesting to see if it will be a push broom, leaf blower, or snow blower amount. .
  17. It would be kinda neat to see if where the cutoff is at this very moment doesn’t budge any further. Just neat from watching storms like this for years. It’s five miles away from me. .
