  1. 12Z Euro clown give me 20' while 18Z GFS gives me 17". I fear I will get invested.
  2. Elevation is 1240' (it's also in my signature), I cleared at 10pm and then again at 6 am but did not do an on the ground check. We were wiped clean prior to yesterday so I would guess it is about 4"
  3. We have a Watch for Saturday now. https://www.weather.gov/btv/winter 10% map is fun
  4. Measured 1.4 at 10 pm last night, 3.0 new on top of that overnight.
  5. 8.4 inches overnight, surprisingly never lost power
  6. Standard earlier, toy now,
  7. Eyeballing 3 inches new, puking dendrites the size of beagles at the moment
  8. NAM, HRRR and RGEM too. Having power is overated.
  9. Winter Storm Watches up for much of Vermont.
  10. FWIW I routinely shovel my 350' steep driveway if there is less than 4 or 5". More than that I use the snow blower first. Ruts and dips make it so I have to shovel anyway after snow blowing. There was a year of so where I just shovelled because the snowblower seemed worthless then I learned what shear pins were and why the snow blower was worthless.
  11. Well they can hardly say it wasn't forecast
  12. I love the language in the point and click for Donner Pass. "Snow showers. The snow could be heavy at times" I would think if it will total 43 to 49 inches just overnight that it may be heavy at times. https://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=39.3191&lon=-120.3285 This Afternoon Snow showers. The snow could be heavy at times. Widespread blowing snow. High near 29. Windy, with a southwest wind 28 to 31 mph, with gusts as high as 47 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 28 to 34 inches possible. Tonight Snow showers. The snow could be heavy at times. Widespread blowing snow. Low around 16. Wind chill values as low as -2. Windy, with a southwest wind around 38 mph, with gusts as high as 55 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 43 to 49 inches possible.
  13. Lost power a couple of minutes after I got home. Between the fog being blown sideways taking vis to near zero, pelting rain, and awful mud ruts, and driving under the birch tree hanging 5 feet in the air across the whole road, the last 5 miles were about as scary a drive as I have done in years. By the time I reached the tree being held up by power lines, I was committed as the road is lined with birch and pines, the line was about to hit and I didn't know that I could get off the road if I didn't keep going.
  14. I stopped at the car wash on the commute this morning to beat the inevitable crowds later today. Good chance the fields next to 100 north of Stowe will be snow free by the end of the day today.
  15. Bill Murray needs to be superimposed on this somehow:
  16. a new inch as of my leaving house at 6:30
  17. My office is very close to the blue line and the totality should be around 3:30 according to the net. Just have to hope it is good weather.
  18. Measured 1.1 new when I got home. 3.1 for the event. Light fzn rn at the moment
  19. We got another inch before I left for work at 6:40. It was snowing at about an inch per hour rate so the roads were pretty well covered the first 45 minutes or so of the drive.
