  1. Well…this pattern hasnt worked for us much if you like “big” snowstorms. Becoming pretty clear that January is going to end with a lot of near misses 22F at moment
  2. Marginal temps initially. you want as much of this to fall before sunrise if you want to maximize accumulation on all surfaces
  3. Just dry-slotted in Lake Placid. I would say around 6 inches so far. Another Band in Albany will give us a bit more but definitely an under performer so far 26F
  4. Several inches on ground in Lake Placid with moderate (1/2 mile vis looking at lake) snow and 22F. Not huge, but nothing to sneeze at. Obviously several hours to go. Huge dry slot over NYS is interesting.
  5. Just an opinion…and a humble one at that You should hold off on these threads a bit. 38 pages. Guys are staying up all night looking at runs. Building up this big thing for something thats been nothing for a while. Again, just a humble opinion…I dont think these side week-long threads are healthy for the forum or the posters
  6. As of today, Hunter Mt is reporting 6 inches os snow for season That is on par for 2015…which is a historically low season
  7. When guys are tracking things 8/9 days out and creating 30 page threads that overshadow the whole forum what do you expect? Within any reasonable timeframe the storm was always going to be rain.
  8. You don’t even need to do that if you moved up to Westchester or Rockland there is still snow on the ground in many places. New York City was never a good place for us snow because it’s too warm. In a warming climate, even with monster storms, you have less ground cover days because the temperature has warmed so dramatically and the overnight lows in the urban core have been particularly affected. I notice that this week with a lot of moans and groans of no winter. Many of us still have spotty snow cover and it makes a bad winter much more palatable
  9. The weather experts on here have written off Monday. People looking out to next weekend…You are already down to 8 or 9 days. Would you take the over? haha
  10. That’s true but depending on which one of those tracks are taken it is a big difference for those of us in the northwest suburbs. One concrete aspect of these tracks is the city is done for just about anything… But for 2/3 of the area the difference between a low in Pennsylvania or a low over the coast is a huge deal
  11. We haven’t had a winter in a long time where we have cold that lasts more than a few weeks before an extended warm up. If you’re talking about a favorable pattern that produces snow in warm conditions…great. but if you think this seasonably cold or below normal air is going to stick around indefinitely, I doubt it. I would like to see us capitalize on some of this while we have it. No way to sugarcoat this… if this cuts West this is a big hit
