Yes it has. I love your posts but you try to wish a storm every time.’ Can’t just dismiss the GFS at this point.
-
0 to 2’ with a high probability of 0. That is the baseline at moment
-
My gut says we should be happy if we get this. I just can’t dismiss the east GFS. Not this January. If it came back west I would feel better.
-
FOK is amazing. One day we’ll find out there was a piece of ice on the thermometer

7F Hastings on Hudson Coldest night yet Whatever happens this winter… This has been a cold January…
-
Correct. if we were 12 hours out from the storm you would say we’re going to get something. The fact that we are so far out and the trend is that bad is concerning
-
This isnt a therapy session. It is a weather forum. weather isnt a like/dislike situation. It just is. And the fact that we haven’t had many winter months with below normal departures in several years… That is the BIG story.

The deck is not stacked against us. It snows here plenty. This is a bad year with a fast pattern. I suggested a few weeks ago stopping these threads 7/8/9 days out. It is ridiculous! Guys are grasping at straws and then get mad when it doesn’t happen. then a week from now, do the same thing all over again. Meanwhile, it is sucking all the oxygen out of the monthly threads. We have had a very cold January and there’s been almost no discussion about it. This is going to kill the forum as guys just get exhausted with it. You have people staying up all night to track a storm days from now that is never coming. It isnt healthy

GFS has been solid with the fast flow Don’t know why guys have been dismissing it… Especially given the year
-
18F at 8 am If it’s going to be 50 next week doesn’t really matter how much snow you get on Saturday, right?
-
Given the patterns this season, the fact that the metro area is on the western end of this, and the excitability of this forum over the last month… I wouldn’t cancel a thing…yet
-
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Dont diminish seasonal precedent of trending east with a fast flow. Especially if it starts to show again This is too far out to get excited And it is certainly too far out to dismiss another out to sea possibility There seems to be a subforum opinion that we have to have a major snow this January. The pattern is too good. Yet the pattern keeps proving hostile

AMEN

Given what we have seen all year, I wouldnt dismiss the GFS run. Not at all. It fits perfectly…

ANGLE!!! Happy? See you 3/1/22

Please. The PNA doesnt know the Gregorian Calendar. Some of these posts are getting ridiculous Too many posters writing off the entire month of February on 1/20 like its Gospel. Meanwhile, going all in for 2-4 last week with a frontal passage when it was 48F outside. Let’s all breathe a bit. Soon, we can talk about Sun Angel!!

Its funny seeing ORF covered in snow and not us. Whole interior of SE really.

7F in Hastings this morning. Pipe froze despite my dripping the faucet. Nice photo of the Delaware River with some ice. Reminded me of George Washington

I think it has been a descent January. Nice and cold. A few snow events (a little paltry) but my lawn has had some snow on it for most of month without the hassle of widespread deep snow cover Much better than some past winters of constant warmth Like other posters mentioned, I also dont get the torch/snow lovers. There is so much more to winter than a day of snow: skiing, skating, clean air with great visibility, the crisp morning air, stepping out of a hot bar to smoke a cigarette in the cold with friends. In an increasingly hot and humid climate, it is a nice reprieve. Enjoy it. Up to 11F In terms of extremes, I will take this over 100F anyday

10F at 630am in Hastings on Hudson

Pretty. This is a N and W storm, an elevation storm, a grass and tree storm due to marginal temps.

Actually they didn’t. They predicted less snow because of less precipitation. The precipitation is there. It’s just falling as rain.
