    I was mostly going by climatological records for JFK. I've found that 1 or 2 90 degrees do typically happen there in September, but not more than that except for the amazing summer of 1983 when they had 5.

    hello early fall! I see it'll get into the 50s Thursday night even in the city? I think Thursday could be a really nice day with the rain ending early and the sun coming out. Might even be in the upper 60s during the day.

    #3 in July and #4 in August. Don do you see a break from tropical activity for the east coast after this storm blows through? Maybe we wont see any more up here, just like we didn't after August last year.

    2005 was a sneaky hot summer, I say sneaky because it was one of those sea breeze summers where LGA was a lot hotter than either JFK or NYC, but they were all pretty hot. Still cant wrap my mind around how September in 1983 had 5x 90+ highs at JFK, a record that may never be equaled (since the next closest is 2x which has happened several times.)

    I'll call it the bay breeze lol they get it before the south shore of Nassau County gets it. Interesting that 2010 is nowhere on this list. As far as August goes my two hottest were 1980 and 1995. Chris, do you have a list of their top August 90+ day rankings?

    How did it do at JFK? Also, because of how hot summers typically are here, isn't anything more than a +2 anomaly rare anyway?

    Wow I had to blink to make sure that wasn't 1985 lol. Think we'll average minimum extent around the equinox by the end of the decade, Don?
