    it's that accursed upper level low and all the clouds that are responsible for that. It's unbearable enough with all this high humidity. Someone help me nuke the Atlantic Ocean please

    so how do WE reset it back? It seems like we need to do some tinkering with ENSO, on a large scale if we can develop the technology to alter ocean currents we should be able to stop these large ENSO swings from happening.

    I already know we're in a subtropical climate zone so I'm not even going to spend much time on this, here is a copy and paste of the first search result. New York City, after years of being considered a humid continental climate, now sits within the humid subtropical climate zone.     California is running out of water and the "record" crop yields are being destroyed, ask any farmer in the midwest, they are leaving the industry in droves.

    why is it so difficult to exterminate mosquitoes and drive them into extinction? We find it so easy to drive desirable species to extinction why can't we actually make species we dont want to go extinct?

    Interview on TWC it looks like the naming of big heat waves might be coming as well as the definition of a "heat season" much like the tropical season. The goal is to draw more attention to anomalous heat and to warn the public because it is a far bigger killer than tropical systems are. Maybe we will have heat chasers just like we have storm chasers. I feel a rush when the old thermo hits 100 degrees!

    That made me picture a bunch of slow humans nodding in rhythm to the sound of music in their headsets, sitting on park benches aimlessly sipping on their diet cokes and munching on processed fast food as their brain cells slowly die off....

    It's interesting what our summers are turning into, consistently warm to very warm, but very little in the way of extreme heat and particularly extreme heat that lasts a long time. All of our long 7+ day heatwaves are from over a decade ago.

    NYC just signed an agreement with Canada for power sharing to be 100% renewable energy in NYC govt by 2025 and the mayor and governor both announced urban farms which will lower air pollution and improve the greenery all around the city the city will be 30% greenery by 2030!

    That trajectory looked to me like a southern track. Do you think that splitting the two predominant tracks (SE/Gulf and out to sea/Bermuda), which would be Hatteras to New England may be more likely than, say, when we had Henri come up here in August? If so it looks like a first week of October window doesn't it, Don?

    But let's remember that the chances for anything to happen here are extremely small. What usually happens is a storm into the SE or Gulf or even more likely out to sea, which is what's been happening this month.
