  2. But weren't there three 100+ days out of 4 in 1977? Thats amazing.
  3. weird that it had the hottest week in NYC history and then all of a sudden the heat went away?
  4. Some faith in humanity restored. Teenagers solving the problems that the older generations are saddling them with like fire extinguishers made specifically for forest fires. https://twitter.com/i/events/1422249961618649092

  11. Tony as far as you can see, how long is that heat supposed to last and what day would be peak heat? Before next Friday the 13th?
  12. and why are upper 70s and 80s predicted for long island? Is that a malfunction of the model where it thinks long island is the ocean, like it does with snowfall maps?
  13. for August 10th right? The GFS was predicting that a week ago lol. How long is this heat supposed to last for and is August 10th the highest it will get?

  15. Don what about the usual suspects that challenge Death Valley temps in the Middle East? Like Ahwaz, Iran and Basra, Iraq? I looked up all the towns that have recorded 128 and higher and came up with those and a couple of others in the region like Moenjo Daro, Pakistan and Turbat, Pakistan. Any of those could become the next 130.....
  16. There is if you graph north american summers for every 11 year period, it's a sea of red..... 1944, 55, 66, 77, 88, 99, 2010 were all among the hottest on record
  17. this makes sense since the peninsula is surrounded by water. That's the big difference between the Arctic and the rest of the Antarctic
  18. This explains a lot about the radical climate shift we saw beginning in the mid 90s, with tropical weather, with snowfall seasons and with extreme temps.....
  19. oh no NYC didn't reach the 50s? JFK must have, I woke up to 58 degrees here and I'm just east of there.
  20. Don, I think it was in the upper 50s Saturday morning at JFK? It was here. What about NYC? and FOK and MPO? I bet those were in the 40s! Thanks
  21. they should rank them by the ones with the highest temperature if two months are tied
  22. thought pesticide use on Long Island might be affecting them
