  1. see 1988-89 Also why the hell do these models always make Long Island seem like it never snows there?
  2. One of the best storms I've ever seen, like a half version of Jan 2016, all day zero visibility! Wasnt that the storm that set the surge record in Boston too?
  3. We could've broken some snowfall records. I remember one of those storms was forecast to give us a foot of snow within about 12 hours of start time.....I think we got an inch or two lol.
  4. Wasn't March 2014 supposed to be snowy and somehow the storms all ended up suppressed (very unusual in a spring month)? How did DC do in February 1989 and December 1989, Don? Those were our two biggest busts in the 80s when 6-8" was predicted and we got virga in the former and rain in the latter.
  5. February 1989 was the exact event I was thinking of-- except I thought they received 19" in that? Philly got about 10"? Anyway it looks like our models have improved somewhat since then, we had a forecast of 6-8 inches leading right up to the storm. It was a 6-8" virga snowstorm for us lol. It was the opposite kind of bust compared to December 1989 when we were predicted to get 6-8" of snow and the secondary formed right overhead and we got thunder, lightning and rain instead! Are you familiar with both of these events, Don? They were the two most negative busts during the 1980s.
  6. I'm not either, there's no evidence it's better than random guesswork. There are various exception to that February rule too-- 95-96, 05-06, and last year's for starters.
  7. I'd like to see that in the summer
  8. only saw intermittent flurries here a T not even a dusting or coating
  9. I see you upped your totals Don.... think we could get 2 inches or more here on the south shore 4 miles SE of JFK?
  10. you want to be in Long Beach for this, we could get 2-4 here
  11. I'm waiting for the Giants to quit the NFL. Please someone end this franchise and the Jets while we're at it too.
