  1. Westhampton 111 mph sustained (cat 3 confirmed!) 156 mph gusts?
  2. It peaked in the mid 60s here (64) before the heavy overcast moved back in. Why don't these crappy storms ever rain themselves out?
  3. Don, parts of New York City could see some snow ?
  4. What did Westhampton have? I think they had the highest winds in our area?
  5. It's been nice and sunny for 2 hours now and into the lower 60s here.
  6. It looks like the sun is trying to come out.....
  7. and 8 inches at both airports But eastern LI had 16 inches about the same amount they received in April 1996 (a much wetter snow.)
  8. It could be true especially since it was no longer purely tropical. Worse than Sandy in terms of winds wow (we had 90-95 mph winds here from Sandy.)
  9. Yes, last October and first half of November were my favorite 6 weeks in Fall in over a decade (probably going back to 2010.)
  10. Yes the *warmth* doesn't mean much if it's going to be cloudy/foggy/misty/drizzly/rainy Spring weather was much better in the 70s/80s/90s/all the way to 2002.
  11. as long as it doesn't rain every other day
  12. Yep, cool/cold this time of year is only a problem at night. I hope your solar panels work out, our springs seem to be getting wetter (and cooler in terms of high temperatures.) You might need to clean it often otherwise mold and/or mildew might reduce its efficiency (if we keep getting wet weather like this.)
  13. lol it will be worse Tuesday through Thursday will be okay. There will be sun, even though it's cold, who cares, the sun is high enough in the sky during the day that it won't matter much.
  14. There really wasn't, I've experienced a real drought.
  15. Thank goodness we didn't get that here! Sunshine would be much better than this cloudy muck though.
  16. But the 1938 storm made landfall 100 miles east of Manhattan.
  17. told you lol, there was no real drought
  18. I wonder what the wind speeds were in the Norfolk and Long Island hurricane? All I see are storm surge values and minimum barometric pressure-- what about wind speeds?
  19. Our Aprils were hotter and drier in the late 70s. It's actually pretty surprising how much more common 90 degree heat was in April back then.
  20. it's gotten worse, if you look back at the 70s, 80s and 90s all the way to 2002 we had drier Aprils back then and more 90 degree days in April than we have now. Note especially April 1976, 77, 78.
  21. what a historic event this was. Lows:EWR: 17 (1982) BlizzardNYC: 21 (1982)LGA: 22 (1982)JFK: 20 (1982)
