  1. I assume you mean 07-08? Even 07-08 was far better than this winter.... remember late in February we had an SWFE that gave us 6-8 inches of snow (even here on the south shore.)
  2. give me the hit over the other outcomes, those other outcomes only work when the bases are loaded or if there is a runner on third (in the case of passed ball, wild pitch and balk.)
  3. How does it compare with 1951-80 or 1961-90, Don? Those are the normals most of us grew up with.
  4. I like the drier pattern of the -AMO, this is the kind if weather I grew up with.
  5. I like that we're returning back to drier weather like the kind I grew up with. -AMO in effect. 0.13 as of 11 PM last night.
  6. I like -AMO it's putting an end to all the flooding madness
  7. wow a time traveler from the future! Does NYC even still exist in 2925?
  8. Was January 1977 the coldest in terms of actual mean monthly temperatures, Don?
  9. These must have been the coldest months at JFK and only February 2015 was 10 degrees below normal.
  10. we are now in The Twilight Zone airport measurements are by amateurs and climate change in the colloquial sense -- SAY WHAT??
  11. damn fly on the cake. it does look like the real rain is going both south and north of us and the heaviest rain will be after midnight. you can be damn sure if it we were cold enough to get snow, this would have been a virga storm. By the way, January should not have 31 days (February should have more days to even out the months.) The first four months should have 30 days each.
  12. actually we did, one in December and one in January. Central Park measurements are inaccurate, so go by the airports. Both LGA and JFK have had 2 such storms.
  13. that first one was such a busted forecast, we were supposed to get 6-8 inches. Atlantic City got 19 inches we just got overcast skies. in la ninas with a southeast ridge you don't expect a virga storm.
  14. much better than boring suppression that's for sure.
  15. a back and forth pattern can do this
  16. that's not climate change after 2021 lol, otherwise you have to blame everything on climate change. How did the gulf coast get snow this winter (as an example).
  17. Yes, it's actually extremely rare to get shut out in February. You could have 2 inches of snow at night and 50s during the day pretty easily. Get that twice in the month and you have your 4 inches.
  18. Yes, not in a few years. Those storms are some kind of magic.
  19. we're talking about 2010s not 1910s, the climate doesn't change that quickly.
  20. it makes no sense to say *no chance of snow* in the heart of winter, it's stupid, you can get snow in ANY pattern. Maybe not heavy snow, but accumulating snow can happen in ANY pattern in the middle of winter.
