  1. as long as the sun is out and we're not getting more windy rainy crap.
  2. I just remember a lot more 90s in April occurring back in the late 70s (as you've shown with your data) and then of course we had 1991, 2002 and 2010. I think a few years ago we had back to back days in the 90s in April? Wasn't there some data posted showing that -NAO is becoming more common in April and May while +NAO is becoming more common during the winter?
  3. was the entirety of May 2020 as cold as that weekend was when we got snow? I'm trying to remember other cold Mays.... May 1992? Sandwiched between two great summers! May 1992 had lows in the 30s and snow as close by as Morristown NJ. May 1977 (although we had 90s in April, earliest on record for JFK) and a hot summer with a record hot 2 week stretch in July. May 1977 had that snowy noreaster on the same day that we got snow in May 2020.
  4. They want to move south until they realize how crappy the summers in Florida are lol. The 30 year norms also seem to give a perception that it's not warming as quickly as it actually is. I wonder how different the 1951-80 April norms are vs the 1991-2020 April norms.
  5. Records: Highs: EWR: 90 (1977) NYC: 90 (1977) LGA: 86 (1977) JFK: 90 (1977) Lows: EWR: 27 (1976) NYC: 22 (1874) LGA: 29 (1976) JFK: 28 (1976) Very funny to go from record cold in 1976 on this date to JFK's earliest 90 degree day on the same date a year later lol. Must have been a northerly or northwesterly winds as LGA was 4 degrees cooler than everyone else. Even funnier, within a week we went from record cold in 1976 to our earliest heatwave of all time (later matched in 2002) and the all time April high temperature of 96 (also matched in 2002)!! Global warming, at least not in Spring, our Springs seem to be getting cooler and yuckier LOL.
  6. Yay no more useless cutoff next weekend! also brightening may occur tomorrow afternoon, with patches of sunshine. These storms typically exit quicker than forecast Monday and Tuesday should both be at least partly sunny as the rain will only occur during the night.
  7. Not really, unless there is going to be a snowstorm, this is useless, better to be 70 and sunny. What was your low for this morning, 36?
  8. still snowing hard? you might end up with 6.
  9. High Point, NJ 5.0 inches Walt and still snowing heavily there!!
  10. That must be where the changeover line is.
  11. Yes they just announced on WABC that Sussex county will be the jackpot for this storm. 5 inches report from High Point, NJ !
  12. 3 inches for you? That's what I'm hearing for the Poconos and another 3 could fall today/tonight.
  13. at least it will be sunny both days. No precip on Sunday either and the sun comes out in the afternoon.
  14. Excellent Rob. I've heard around 3 inches in the Poconos too and another 3 inches expected today/tonight.
  15. I have zero memory of that storm but I clearly remember April 1982 lol We remember the big ones lol, especially our first big one. I wrote this in the CC forum but it applies to here too. I went shopping yesterday and talked to a bunch of people about this weather, both left and right. To be honest I've been talking to a lot of people who wish climate change would accelerate lol. They don't want the crap weather we are having right now, they want 60s-70s and sunny. The bad thing is this kind of weather we're having actually makes the deniers think they are right, they've been saying, if climate change was a serious problem we wouldn't be getting this kind of weather anymore. Paradoxically, I think climate change acceleration is the only way to get more people angry and involved. It has to become a serious life and death situation where it's warm enough to cause disruption to their life. And a large percentage of people actually don't want abnormally cold weather anymore, that's another issue.

  17. I wonder if it would still be snowing after daybreak so we can actually see snow fall.
  18. Looking for very late season comparisons what do you think of 4/19-20/1983 ?
  19. Look up the April 1915 storm in Philadelphia, nearly 20 inches of snow!!
  20. What would this storm have done had it happened in either January or February??
  21. lol I wonder what they were doing in that earthquake we had last year around this time.
  22. It's been theorized that because of CC we will see many more +NAO in the winter and many more -NAO in the spring.
  23. Not only do the on air TV Mets question Central Park snowfall totals they also question their temperatures (in the summer they are too low) and their wind speeds (also too low). That ASOS there has a major siting issue. And yet they still use it lol.
  24. How does this differ from the Tax Day Noreaster in 2007? I remember we were supposed to get some snow at the end of that storm and it ended up south of in coastal NJ lol.
