No? The heavy stuff just north of the mix line is actually still sleet?
Yup or Zr in the higher terrain like kbgm is reporting right now. The tri-cities airport in Endicott reported light snow and 27° and their 6 miles south of me on the banks of the Susquehanna around 890ft elev... not sure I buy that one.
-
If only this radar was accurate...
Pounding sleet and 27.1° at 930ft elev
Kbgm airport reporting Zr and 24° at 1630ft elev 5 miles east.

Absolutely dumping sleet. What a waste.
Yup same here. Temp down to 26.8°.

We're nearly all sleet here now too thankfully.
Looked like rain drops under the streetlight and couldn't hear the pinging over the TV and fire insert. But stepped outside and it's music to my ears.

I’ve never been so happy to hear sleet raking across our window screens.
Temp down to 30/29 and that did the trick.
Looks like pure sleet with some mangled icy flakes mixed in now.
Good luck to you guys south of me.
We def have a few pingers mixed in but still looks like mostly zr here.

Boo. I hate that you're left out of the snowfall. How much of your snowpack is left?
Bout 5 inches. Hope we at least flip to a bunch of sleet to glacierize what's left of our snowpack and also so I can plow it in the morning.

I did a major tuneup on our generator last month.
I really don't want to be using it tonight.
I stocked up on 30 gallons of non-eth last month and added some stabilizer to it for extra shelf life. Ran the generator for few mins couple weekends ago. Locked and loaded for an outage. Next few nights might get below 0 too could spell disaster for alot of ppl that don't have backup power or wood heat available.

30.4° and pavement all iced over now. This sucks.

31F, dew 30F, rain here. Ice accreting on trees.
This is going to get ugly for someone if we don't flip to snow or sleet soon.
Yeah its not looking good. HRRR keeps slowly pushing things north and showing mainly freezing rain here now with atleast a few to several hours of sleet pushing all the way to Ithaca-Cortland-Hamilton.

its the same thing with the cutoff storm, when you get mixing events, don't use the globals. the mesos will seek out those warm layers way better. I thought the cold press would get your back yard more in line, but looks to be just north of you
Rgem and Nam ftw (down here atleast)

Well I’m impressed with the models. For days now, most models showed a brutal cutoff right along the I-88 corridor and that seems to be verifying. It has been in the 30s all day and is currently 32° and raining. Just brutal to have lost a lot of the snowpack today AND not have much hope of even getting back to where we started by the end of the storm.
I hope everyone N and W of me is enjoying it!
Yup...31.5° and steady rain here. No ice accretion yet. Fook this storm. Had a feeling the high-res mesos were on to something (though even some of the Hrrr and wrf runs were bullish on snow down here). Should have ignored the lower res operationals (save maybe the CMC) showing mainly snow to the state line.

Light rn/sn mix and 36.0°.
Nws/kbgm airport reporting unknown precip and 32°.
Probably be short-lived though with models showing predom sleet/zr here most of the evening and possibly well into the overnight.

Nothing in se Broome County to over a foot in nw part of county and its a pretty small county.
I'm in the west central part right on Tioga county line to the west. Still rain and 37.2° here. Seen radar coefficient earlier showing rain/snow line and it was just a couple miles nw of here but it's really taking its time dropping se.

Not worth much but ARWs are colder and obscene for me. Then you have an RGEM solution that's pitiful. Lol
Yeah, I see what you mean. At least there's some hope to cling to but im not liking the odds... least down here. I think you're in a better spot being more north than east from here.
-
Light rain and 34.3° here attm. Looks like more sleet/ice and less snow here now. Kinda figured it might go like that. O well.

I’m just SE of the 4.8 near Sidney. Squarely in the 1” minus. Super excited about that….
Yeah... going to be nowcasting event for our area. Could go either way. Will have to see how things trend starting tomorrow morning real time as compared to the modeling.

What? What about that storm last year when you guys pushed 30" and we smoked the length of a Vienna sausage up here in sizzle?
I'm talking about over a much shorter distance of 5-10 miles. And we pushed 44" that storm.
