  1. There’s actually some “cell” markers showing up in and around Nashville on radar. Must be some instability helping out. .
  2. Just thinking out loud…. With warm(er) air trapped in the valley, you would think NW flow with strong CAA would increase lapse rates and actually benefit the valley some. I’ve often wondered if that helped the mountains also. It’s so hard to figure out where downsloping stops and rising motion takes over in these situations. .
  3. I think me and my 7 year old might run up to Gatlinburg later on. He’s wanting to see some snow and my wife is out with some friends on a bachelorette party/dinner. .
  4. That area you are under is actually back building away from the flow. Man.. you might have hit the jackpot .
  5. I see that enhanced area on radar down your way. Very nice .
  6. I’m roughly 25 miles SE of you but our weather (climate) is night and day different. I’m around 1200’ feet so it’s not like you are way higher than me. .
  7. Will the DGZ be below the radar later? Not much on radar at my house be light snow is falling at a decent clip. .
  8. I’ll be interested to see how much of that precipitation you are getting makes it into the valley without drying up. Might be a good sign that the skies are not “snowy” looking in Knoxville but we are getting some flurries .
  9. It’s ripping it up on the Gatlinburg summit cam looking at Mt Leconte .
  10. Looks like the front end of that wave is moving out of southern Ky, northern plateau and it’s showing up on MRX radar. .
  11. Our little wave up in NW Kentucky looks a little more vigorous than I expected. .
  12. You are correct. I’m a little NE of Knoxville and it’s spitting snow. Temp has dropped off several degrees. I wonder if it changes things if most of this falls as snow? .
  13. It pains me to see all these snow reports around Knoxville. .#ValleyLife. #MotherNatureHatesKnoxville .
  14. Seems like we talked before the season started that this pattern favored west and middle Tennessee. Looks like that is working out for them. They can’t all cut can they? I mean… odds are we keep getting these systems and one of them will accidentally move up the right side of the mountains right? .
  15. The sky has that look to it and you can smell it in the air. .
  16. That looks about right considering downsloping is what gets the valley in NW flow. I do a little better in NNW flow. .
  17. I wish it would go ahead and give. .
  18. Just give me a 1/4 of this and I’ll be satisfied .
  19. Maybe I haven’t been paying attention but what’s MRX seeing that the mods are not? I haven’t seen anything that suggests anything more than light snow showers around Knoxville. .
  20. Cutters are not always a bad thing. It will lay some snow pack to our NW and possibly provide some blocking to force one SE of our area. On the other hand I feel like several cutters in a row might help establish SER and bring it further NW. .
