  1. Continuing to snow lightly here, ground is petty well covered. With expected temps and could cover, I wouldn't be surprised if this remains on the ground until the potential big storm starts. It would be nice to finally have an event where half of the snow doesn't melt on contact.
  2. I’m not great a figuring out winds off of models, but drifting could be a big issue with this fluff, correct?
  3. Not 100% sure but looks like Saturday morning to me
  4. Personally, I’m a big fan of the guy in the comment section asking if the output shown is in feet or inches lol
  5. The Oklahoma Mets seem to be pretty guilty of this right now. Putting out a graphic that shows 3/4 of Oklahoma getting 6-12+ at this range seems like a bad idea, especially this far in advance. I thought SGF put out the best graphic of anyone so far.
  6. Personally hoping we get the typical northern shift
  7. Man, I want to believe, but I can’t help but think these forecasts are a bit premature. How many time in the last 5-10 years have we had a system like looks great 5-7 days out then totally falls apart as we close in?
  8. Am I crazy for thinking that a miss to the south is the most likely outcome here?
  9. So the mean is showing a large area of 5-7 at 10:1? Ratios should be a good bit amount higher than that, so sign me up.
  10. GFS is just stupid cold in northern Missouri. Given how poorly the models handled the cold we are experiencing right now, it makes you wonder if models could actually be under doing the cold next weekend. If the potentially snow verifies and a large portion of the state is under a foot or more of snow, could somewhere in northern Mo challenge the all time record?
  11. I am a little surprised but SGF mentions the possibility of "impactful accumulations" this weekend in this afternoons AFD.
  12. Temp still 29, but roads are rapidly clearing up. My driveway is almost completely ice free despite continued rain/heavy mist. Sun angle winning out.
  13. Depending on the exact location of the snow, we could have very different definitions of the word fun. Lol
  14. HRRR was a degree too warm, but winds here are out of the SE, so I don’t think the HRRR is going to bust here.
  15. It’s going to be close temp wise here. I would guess we barely get above freezing for a couple hours
  16. Back to the event at hand.... very heavy mist right now, and roads have gone down hill significantly in the last hour. Tons of crashes in Springfield.
  17. Personally, I wouldn’t say anything for a while. The GFS is kind of on its own with that solution.
  18. I mean, on 6 hour intervals I think the GFS has us both below 0 for something near 60 straight hours. That’s absolutely insane.
  19. Heavy snow falling into sub zero temps? Where do I sign up?
  20. Pretty much a non event here so far, roads are completely dry this morning.
