  1. Same happened to me. Ran out of oil. In my case my oil delivery guy did the bleed. It took about 2 minutes. I was going to do it. You tube video shows it . Not hard to do.
  2. Worcester, PA. Highest gust 37.8 mph. Lowest wind chill -9.7. Brutal outside.
  3. Worcester, PA 12 degrees . Almost all sleet. Some flakes mixed in. Rough estimate 10 inches.
  4. Worcester, Pa had a low of -6. Neighbor had -5.6. . Up to 11 now at 9:30 am.
  5. Worcester, PA 30 degrees. . Down 2 degrees in last 1.5 hours. Everything covered again. Roads had cleared. Now covered again. I expect road crews are getting tired. Great job locally. Haven't been out to see rest of the area.
  6. Thanks for the clarification. I was not aware of that. It seemed to me after a road is brined the road just stays wet and doesn't ice over until it get too diluted or washes off.
  7. Worcester, PA ended up with about 2.5". Normally not much of an event, but in this case the roads were horrible. I am not 100% sure, but it would appear not much brine was put down. It wasn't an issue of 15 degrees and brine not working. (I think brine has a point where it is too cold and doesn't work similar to salt). It was 30 to 32 degrees. It appeared after running four fire calls with in 2 hours it was township, county and state roads that were just a mess. (I'm in central Montgomery County PA.) I know the storm over performed, but I think we all knew there was a chance of snow. It also shows it doesn't take much of a coating to create traffic nightmares. I think I read most of the computer models missed it and only the RGEM performed better than others. Kind of makes sense to not put all your eggs in one model. Tomorrow we have a winter weather advisory - so we have a heads-up. Not sure, but I think brine has to go on a dry road. That does not appear likely today. In addition the locals are still plowing and not is a position to brine for tomorrow. Be fun to watch the models tonight for tomorrow.
  8. Worcester, PA. 32 light snow. Everything covering, including the roads.
  9. Worcester, PA. 34 moderate snow. Starting to cover ground and roads.
  10. Worcester, PA 8 degrees. I'm in a cold spot and the combo of snow on the ground and no wind.
  11. Worcester, PA was down to 25.2 a few minutes ago. 26 at this moment. Still pretty clear our with a bright moon. I expect we will pop up when the clouds move in.
  12. Worcester, PA. Gust to 35. Power off briefly, but back on now.
  13. Worcester , PA temp 32.4. Dp 32.2 Moderate snow. Grass and roads now covered. Even the treated roads covering.
