So very true. March is often a roller coaster and this March appears as if the coaster might have a lot of tall hills and big drops. Just no snow until April. LOL
Here's what MU just said about that:
My confidence that the cold front will stay to our north on Monday is increasing, meaning that we'll be in record-challenging territory both Sunday & Monday afternoons. The #Record highs for Sunday at @millersvilleu are 72 from 1946 & 77 from 1921, respectively.
It's been showing on and off now for a few days a storm running through New England around the 15th and dragging a cold front through with rain changing to snow. Outside of that, not a lot to see in terms of wintry precip.
It's hard to do 75 on the best route from where I live. Best way is 30 east, 41 south, 1 north, 322 east, 95 north. Only the last 12 miles are on open highway and at 5pm it's a shit show on 95.
I agree - not common to have temps this cold with no snow cover at this time of year and this time of day.
Looks like MU is warming the ante for Sunday/Monday, now forecasting 76/74 on those 2 days.
Going to experience potentially a 60 degree temp swing in just over 48 hours from the mid teens this morning to perhaps the mid 70s on Sunday. I'll be crying mercy for winter's return. LOL
We have 2 - one on each side of the house. The one out back is much larger in diameter and depth and had a soft layer of ice this morning. The smaller, shallower one was frozen solid.
I never got my shovel out. I had one snow with a few inches in the driveway and I let it melt on it's own. I think the only other winter that I never shoveled was 1997-98. (my largest snow that season was 1.5" that didn't accumulate on paved surfaces.
Something's got to give - and someone is going to end up really happy or very disappointed. Discussion below was posted yesterday afternoon at 4pm, so it's newer info than the Spring Outlook posted earlier. But Elliott is doubling down on his March call and his concern for April snow. Read about it here: https://www.millersville.edu/weathercenter/forecasts/weather-discussion.php
Yeah, I thought this would be a classic day before the cold front kind of deal where temps overperformed. I'll be close to the forecast high, but the wind is adding a bit of a chill.
