  1. .48" in the bucket for the day at home. (and far less than that here at work)
  2. According to my wife, rain started at home 5 minutes ago and we're at .22" already...
  3. Isn't that going to slide below us? (or perhaps south of my location)
  4. Looking at the radar as it is right now - that sort of looks believable, unfortunately.
  5. Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Maytown. I'm in Conestoga.
  6. Alaska is incredible - fortunate that my parents used to live there, and I had a chance to go a few times. :) On my last trip, it was in the 60s in Anchorage, but over 80 up in Healy outside of Denali National Park. My personal favorite place though is Seward - sitting along the Pacific, taking in the salt air like you would at any east coast beach, while being surrounded by snow-capped mountains was...exhilarating. That's a combo you can't experience in too many places in the U.S.
  7. Rain has commenced in Maytown, according to spotter report. (Mrs. Trainingtime)
  8. Fail me. Just as it looked like the line was congealing just to my west, it abruptly split again. I did not record a single drop of rain.
  9. 91 and cloudy here, but unless something fills in quickly, we're going to miss this first line.
  10. Fame was fleeting - I think I was at 100 for less than a minute. It counts.
  11. Love me some end of June NAM-ing. Time for a January '16 encore.
  12. My 2nd backup is my $4 thermometer mounted on my kitchen window combined with my $7 garden rain gauge.
  13. CTP seems to be keying on that feature for Saturday...discussion this morning centered on numerous showers around on Saturday PM.
  14. My 2nd, backup weather station is showing 98.8 (99) here as well. Good to see that my backup is pulling it's own weight.
  15. Looks like the Pittsburgh area is getting hit pretty hard right now.
  16. Ah yes - the old "Hazy, Hot & Humid" forecasts I remember so well back in the 70s and 80s. The air is much cleaner today than it was when I was a child. Even on very humid days, we still have blue skies.
  17. Spend some time and read reviews - most are positive on the Ambient stations. Personally, the price point is it's most attractive selling point. I really don't need a $500 investment when I can get "the basics" for a third of the cost.
  18. If I remember correctly, I was at 90 yesterday at 10, and 92.2 at noon. Seems like we're right on track today.
  19. My wife pays zero attention to my weather antics, but she does support me investing some time and money into my obsession. Her most uttered line over the past 10 years has been "well...what are you and your fellow weenies up to today?"
  20. Yes - if you're shopping on somewhat of a budget. For what I paid, I'm very pleased. Temp, dewpoint, humidity, pressure, rainfall has been very accurate. Ambient stations start at about $150. Just make sure to mount it as far from buildings as possible, and try to mount it high. Mine is at about 15', it really should be at least 30' if you're looking for accurate wind measurements. I think (?) our friend @Voyager might have an Ambient stations as well...
  21. Latest 5 day QPF map from WPC took most of eastern PA from 3+" down to about 1.5". If that happens, great, but the trend is not our friend as Canderson pointed out.
