  1. It has been a wet month here. 5.41" and still some very light rain out there tonight. Like many, the drought of May/June is gone. Like cyclone, lots of leaves down here with the combination of rain and a fair amount of wind today.
  2. Only made it down to 37F (36.9) this morning. Still waiting on my first frost.
  3. That will help keep the lakes a little warmer so the first LES event or two of the season will have a little extra potential.
  4. Show you confidence in this, leave your palms out.
  5. Not everyone has the money to put 4' of insulation on their attic. We get it, you have an amazingly well insulated house. Stop criticizing everyone else who can't do that or lives in an old house where the only option would be a complete demolition and rebuild to meet your standards.
  6. That sounds expensive. What is the payback period on that? Also do you have very many windows? Glass is a poor insulator.
  7. For entertainment only. No way this is happening. Looks like we might be in for a long winter of enduring the GFS teasing long range snowstorms.
  8. My temp sensor runs a little high but I have recorded 10 days of 90 or higher this year. Factoring in the offset I am probably closer to 6 or 7 days at or above 90.
  9. How did things pan out on the east side? My final total from yesterday was 1.41".
  10. We fared pretty well on this side of the lake. 1.22" so far at home today and I am not convinced it is over yet.
  11. Managed 0.33" at home this morning. Looking forward to the cooler temps ahead.
  12. I haven't dropped below 54 yet, but tonight should beat that.
  13. Not sure about up there, but tonight is supposed to be about 5 degrees colder than last night down here.
  14. 88/84/112 over here. Not as bad as many places to the west, but I could definitely pass on this weather. EDIT: 91/85/120 at 4:30
  15. I think if a bird flapped its wings in the midst of a cloud swirl they might consider naming it right now.
  16. 3.13" from 2 bands of rain yesterday afternoon and overnight. The news on the radio this morning said some areas got 5" or more. No real drought concerns here unlike earlier in the summer.
  17. It is a little early to be thinking this, but looking at the models, it would be nice to see a system like this in the winter....
  18. Talk about heat indices with corn contributing to the humidity. How about this? https://www.msn.com/en-us/weather/topstories/hot-tub-like-persian-gulf-fuels-158-degree-heat-index-in-iran/ar-AA1f1Rtx
  19. I grew up just north of the Ohio River in SE Ohio. I am familiar with that part of the state and it is a great place to be just not much around there. What do you do that takes you to Jackson for work?
  20. Jackson, OH, you are heading into the middle of nowhere down that way.
  21. Yeah, keep that stuff away from here.
  22. 1.67” overnight bringing my monthly total to 5.99”. Definitely a wet July locally. I am sure some areas nearby are easily over 7” for the month.
  23. Great conditions for the mosquito population to explode.
