It was falling apart and we had it removed. One side of it had bent and ripped open from the ground heaving underneath.

Yep, the Appalachia/Valley Way access point is essentially across the road from my property. We already hiked up to a few of the falls. I will take it step-by-step with the kids. They wanted to scale the mountain the minute they saw it. The Randolph Mountain Club seems to be a pretty big deal, and I plan to be a part of that and donate to support the amazing work they do. They have shelters on the mountain that they pay someone to live in all year to help hikers which is amazing to me.

I may break down and buy one. I noticed the local walmart in Gorham has them front and center and they were moving briskly. My basement stays at 68-70 even during the peak heat so going down there is like hitting the A/C. Also, my well water is balls cold so a spray from the hose helps.

Yeah, the local folks I have talked to seem to be enjoying this weather because it apparently is pretty rare for a long stretch. I would like to see some rain and thunderstorms though.

I don't have A/C... I hope it cools off during the day soon. This is hotter than I expected.

A real roaster today. It'll take a bit for the upstairs to cool off. These logs hold in the heat. Very nice now. 70 and a great view.

Crazy change. Woke up chilly with the windows open and now I'm baking.

I keep waiting for that weather I was told was a regular occurrence up here. So far, it's been hotter and drier here than in MD most days.
