  1. I will be trying a "liquid pool cover." Anyone every tried one of those? My pool setup won't work with a solar cover really.
  2. It was stupid and childish to not let people in this forum talk about the most unprecedented event in our lifetimes. Some of the posters active in this forum before have been posting in the New England forum instead, so they are still around, just not in here...
  3. Like some of us predicted. But this is what the control freaks wanted. Less “clutter.”
  4. The governors are making this shit up as they go.
  5. Back to 88 after the t-storm nearby dropped temps to 83. Thank god my below-grade basement is a cool 64 degrees still. A refuge. No A/C here... I did not expect such heat so early.
  6. Very weird to be looking at a thunderstorm on top of mountain with snow on it in a muggy 80 degrees. Surreal.
  7. Little bit of drizzle.
  8. Yes, seemingly the climates swapped places.
  9. 89.6 according to the weather station in my backyard. WTF? It's amazing how decoupled the weather is here from places further south.
  10. Hit 86 or so today but 63 in the basement. Actually just checked history on the weather station and it topped out at 88.
  11. It’s been glorious in NNE this week though.
  12. It’s for your own safety, dude. It’s very dangerous outside. Better shut the blinds too for good measure. The science says so!
  13. DE has quietly become one of the most locked down states at this point.
  14. Yeah, buying a house hundreds of miles away totally sight unseen was nerve-wracking. Luckily I had a local guy up here I trusted to give me the scoop on the property. We ended up in a bidding war and almost lost it. We were outbid by 50k and the same dude offered us 25k cash on top to walk away, but we had the seller locked down by that time. Plus I had the crew here telling me about the snow, and I would have paid any price for that heroin. LOL
  15. The person who lived here before spared no expense with the view. I can't imagine how much money she spent clearing the side of the hill and positioning the house. The field in front is totally devoid of boulders whereas the woods on the side are strewn with them. Some are the size of cars. I am told she combined a few smaller lots and paid the legal fees to have the house positioned dead center for the view despite what the permit people said. Still not clear why she sold it, maybe it's haunted or on a Native American burial ground. The furniture hasn't started flying around... yet.
  16. That’s next to explore for sure. Looks like a trailhead for Adams and Madison are right across the road from us.
  17. I am in love so far. We are seriously considering a major life change and just making this our main residence. The vibe up here is incredible. Everyone is so chill and friendly.
  18. Definitely some jumbos out today. Also saw some smaller ones flying escort duty. Also some huge flying ants. It’s like prehistoric up here compared to MD.
  19. OK, appreciate the info. Yeah, I am realizing that about the bugs. Plenty of ticks out too. Already pulled a few off me and the kids before they settled in.
  20. When do the bugs taper off around these parts usually?
  21. I was not prepared for the size of the mosquitoes or the anger of the large local hornets. LOL
  22. Very neat to watch the green march up the mountain. Really exploded over the last 3 days. The contrast with the snow is cool too. Is it weird to be sad to see it melting day by day? LOL
  23. My primary residence is there, but I bought this place in Randolph recently. We are making plans to be here more and more often. MD sucks. I hope to be up here most of the winter.
