  1. I understand that, but it is possible to buy full homeschooling curricula online. If your kids can focus and learn from a talking head on a zoom, this could work out fine.
  2. Definitely also going to be stories of 2-4 year olds in daycares suffocating due to overly thick/tight masks they are forced to wear "for safety."
  3. If a kid starts coughing and refuses to put on a mask, decent chance he will be escorted off the school grounds by police or possibly cuffed. You all know this will happen.
  4. Kids already get arrested in school pretty frequently (more than the zero times it should be). https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2019/09/22/florida-cop-under-investigation-after-arresting-kids-6-and-8/2411142001/ https://www.theindychannel.com/news/local-news/johnson-county/9-year-old-arrested-and-handcuffed-at-elementary-school There are many such stories.
  5. There are going to be many reports of total meltdowns from parents and teachers once the schools reopen. A little kid is going to get arrested for hugging a classmate next school year, 100% guarantee. Schools are already pretty hysterical with the fear and zero tolerance stuff related to guns and violence. This is like tossing gasoline on the fire.
  6. If schools are only open 1 day a week you will be homeschooling anyway...
  7. I think we will just plow ahead as Americans tend to do and the deaths will fade into the background.
  8. Yeah, this and the daycares will probably spell the end of the lockdowns even for the diehard believers. It’s just totally unworkable.
  9. What will you do if schools “reopen” for just 1 or 2 days a week?
  10. We figure “social interaction” six feet apart with masks is not going to be healthy in any way for young kids. Rather just enroll them in some organized clubs, sports, and have set play dates to scratch that itch.
  11. Yep, same here. Luckily my wife stays home and has the patience/ability to do this.
  12. It doesn’t have to happen. I could easily see it not happening at all.
  13. I think it will be county by county at least. Like snow closures.
  14. It's really good if you are a teacher or a school administrator or a PhD in childhood psychology sitting on the board of education wanting to finally put into practice some theories you have in the greatest social experiment of all time...
  15. As soon as someone in the schools tests positive for COVID (which will happen almost immediately), they will shut down again. This whole plan is about protecting the teachers, not the students. we all know there are a lot of older, obese teachers locked in the classrooms with these kids and kids can spread diseases pretty easily. My wife and I are opting out, as the quality of online education for K-8 schools is subpar. They need the interaction and guidance. Luckily, we can do this but most parents have to work.
  16. Are basic stats from MD not even allowed here any longer? Get a grip, people.
  17. The MD school reopening concept is making the rounds. http://marylandpublicschools.org/newsroom/Documents/MSDERecoveryPlan.pdf Sounds pretty terrible for the kids and parents, TBH. 1 day a week in school with heavy social distancing is one of the options. That would be incredibly impactful to working parents. We are probably going to homeschool and use playdates and clubs for socialization.
  18. I hope no one here gives water any credibility because he is a "mod." He's just another troll.
  19. LOL is that 12-24 near Randolph? Silly NAM.
  20. It appears it isn't allowed in banter either, other than silly soft news like "Hogan is opening ice cream shops tomorrow!!" Oh well, ignorance is bliss, I guess.
  21. I have a house there now. Plan to be up 1 week a month all year at least.
  22. I'll be up in Randolph, NH starting on saturday. Sounds like 6-8 is the forecast?
  23. It would seem that, at least in NY, staying at home is more dangerous than going out and doing an essential job. https://www.cnbc.com/2020/05/06/ny-gov-cuomo-says-its-shocking-most-new-coronavirus-hospitalizations-are-people-staying-home.html Very interesting.
  24. I wasn't involved in the final meltdown with trix and psuhoffman. Kinda hilarious how you pretend to be cool with being treated like a small child by self-appointed content curators. LOL yeah but it was all me. Gotta blame someone I guess; if you blamed the right people you'd be kicked out of the club.
