Oof, if nothing else comes from the ULL, then didn't even quite get to 3 inches...just 2.8" for the event. A common issue for most of the systems that have disappointed up this way since I moved here in Dec. 2021 was seen again with this one, delayed on-set, and then crap rates w/ icy flakes due to dry air. Just have not been able to get to that sweet sweet good forcing and lift for years now up this way. Perhaps next time.
fwiw, you can extend that across 83 running east along the north to Sparks, Monkton, Fallston, Jarrettsville, Bel Air, Havre de Grace and surrounds. That whole area has been in a screw zone for years and years now, storm after storm.
up to a jaw-dropping total of 2.5". Props to all the "you all always cash in up that way" posters. Six years of being wrong with that thought and counting...
Skies noticeably darkened and some decent snow started here in Monkton after being very light/flurries for a bit. Nice to see. A little over two inches.
Yep to all of that. It follows a pattern that is six years long now. Synoptically, the systems have just not found a way to get the necessary best lifts to our area for awhile now. Maybe next storm.
Started between 3 and 4 for my area of Monkton in northern Baltimore county (for those who don’t know the area - I am about 10 miles south of PA border and 12 miles or so west of Bel Air) - just measured 1 inch and grass is covered. It is beautiful out and currently light snow.
of my two labs, the younger one just happily flopped over into it and rolled in the snow for several minutes. Cute as hell. Gonna take the two pups to the ncr trail to walk in whatever is falling before starting remote work.
congrats to the Dc/annapolis and surrounds folk - the rates and all sound gorgeous. You all should definitely fully enjoy it!
Heh. I would like to think curmudgeonly resignation...but...yes, if it goes like that, I will be most uncivil for upcoming threats when people from the repeatedly snowy south claim we always cash in up this way. Six years waiting for a warning level snow and counting. Can we get a legit 5 plus inches here? Sure hope so! Fingers corssed.
