I’d be happy with 6” lol BUT keep in mind that GYX AFD mentions that they expect light stuff today and showery in nature and better forcing to arrive this evening into the overnight. And we are about 6 hours in when the storm is going to last through Monday. Not sweating it at this point.
Is it though? It doesn’t look that way to me. The storm is just starting up here. Point forecast calls for 16”, and accumulation of 1.6” by 1 pm. Given that it’s 10:20 and we already have 1”, seems like it’s pretty much on track. Hasn’t even made it to Maine yet
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a snowstorm where models didn’t have that sharp cutoff, whether it happened or not. But I definitely like the look - storm itself and then days of upslope. Bring it!
Most models/members of ensembles show 6+. Still a few days out but it’s looking good; even better is the fact that the storm seems to mark the beginning of a snowy period, with lots of upslope chances in addition to storms. Fingers crossed… I’m ready for the glades
Actually getting more than expected here, closing in on an inch. Had dinner at Thorn Hill in Jackson and there wasn’t anything when we got there, but was all covered by the time we left. Not nice to drive in through the Notch in, but nice to see
I got the Cologuard test done. Covered by insurance every 3 years starting at 45; it’s pretty awesome. Still good to get a colonoscopy done as well, but can’t beat the convenience of a genetic test - almost as accurate (and in some cases, better since it can catch earlier stages) and far easier
Funny how perspectives change… I used to think the first when I first moved up here, now I feel like North Conway is where I’d go if I got sick of the cold weather lol. Of course, it’s all relative - and in CAD situations they’re far colder than Bretton Woods
