  1. Some smoke finally came in to the Front Range. Over here in Ohio, I've had high-level haziness for several days, and decreased air quality on Monday/Tuesday
  2. This might be the record CAPE for Colorado. It might be a bit overdone, with the far western Kansas station with the highest temp/dew point is 90/68 SPC Mesoanalysis said 6500 J/kg, which really should be the same exact thing as this plot, but it's not
  3. The dew points have gotten down to the upper 40's for part of the time here, with an overnight low-temperature condition of temp: 55, dew point:50. It feels so nice, like the dew points I used to feel out West. It's a change from the seemingly endless 70-75 dew points. I probably should have walked down the street to try to take a better picture of the red sun tonight. I didn't get a good picture. It's the reddest sun since 2023.

  6. You guys some get some numerous showers and thunderstorms with the upslope flow. There is a flash flood watch for Colorado Springs. The GFS predicts up to 2" in Weld County in the next two days.

  20. The East Coast has had some active, stormy weather with flash flooding. Here is a plot of all the thunderstorm wind and marine thundestorm wind events since July 1st. It is for these selected sectors (East Coast CWA'S)
