Nah he was talking about dandruff...they pre-treated the roads with Head & Shoulders Obs: Light/moderate snow, big fluffy dandruff flakes here! (with maybe a bit of sleet mixed in)

See I haven't experienced enough ice storms to know if I'd enjoy a bona-fide one...think I prefer snow (although I kinda like a glaze on top of snow though!)

I guess my question is more about the general pattern being modeled...simply, why all the mixy cutters? Lol

Now, this is probably my inexperience, but...I'm perplexed at all these sleet/ice solutions we're seeing despite below freezing temps. I wonder what's going on "under the hood", that is what in the pattern is causing us to have these storms modeled with warmer air aloft?

Just got around to seeing the Euro...Ya know, I'm beginning to look at our history as Bob suggested and adding a "is there precedent" approach to modeling and such. Has there ever been a storm that did what the Euro just did? (though not as bad as 0z) HP in that location that strong...and just freezing rain and sleet? Lol And heck, is there even precedent this season? I mean...you're telling me the blocking would break down to that extent just at that time? Uh... (sorry for the mini-rant...just a bit annoyed because I see next week as our best shot at a BECS or bigger if we can get it under us...best shot we've had in 5 years, imo)

And yet, like psu said...storms have not been cutting in this pattern. I mean seriously....how do you cut into a dang 1040 HP? Lol And also...how often has such a heavy ice-rain scenario actually happened?

I get the feeling that it won't...this would be something that, if the threat is still there by like, Saturday/Sunday, it may actually be happening. That kind of moisture...hard to see it drying up or something, lol But for now, still a lot of model runs to come!

With those adjustments...that would come together for the big punch we so desperately have wanted!

I've found that the low expectations route doesn't always work...not for me, at least. Perhaps it does for others, but...no snow is still no snow...and close misses are close misses...I have learned to appreciate the smaller events too, though--in light of our previous misses. But where I am, we are just close enough to always be in the game...despite the results being a toss-up. So it still can feel bad even with lower expectations (but maybe not as bad, perhaps...). One thing that helps is stepping away from this board when things aren't going well. An echo chamber of disappointment can eat your psyche alive, lol
